Very nice looking game, on the right track to something much bigger and intelligent - but failed. This is the way good C64 game should look, but it needs proper depth.
I never seen the later levels in this until the beauty of emulators arrived! Pity they were a bit of a let down tho. I seem to remember a rather shoddy Op Wolf scrolly shooter and that's that really. I Suppose the music was ok too. It really is quite forgettable overall though.

Although I have never managed to complete the first mission I have always enjoyed playing it. Great music and average - great graphics. I could never figure out how to detect the mines...

Some of Jon Dunn's best C64 music to be found here, very gritty and cinematic.

Aw man this game gave me nightmares.It was too damn hard for me.I remember my maw shouting me down for dinner always stuck at the same bit.Maybe I was just crap at this game or maybe I just couldn't wait to put on The last ninja 2 to be bothered to try and finish it!
Well done action-adventure with a few puzzles to complete. But the music from jonathan dunn is THE highlight! great converted from the movie! 8/10
A decent game and challenging. Great music! Still one of my favourites tunes today.
The only level I found worth playing was level 1. I found level 2 very boring compared to the first part. And level 3 is done OK, but nothing special. The graphics on the other hand were really good.
Rambo III scores full marks for presentation - superb hi-res sprites and a ripping soundtrack - and very little for anything else. The size of the playing area and the varitey of items to use is great, but its attempt to become the C64's answer to Metal Gear failed due to moronic enemy intelligence and unforgiving puzzles (did YOU find the switch for the electrified door before trying to open it?) A wasted opportunity.
This is a great game, miles better than the other Rambo game. This is much longer, with some puzzle elements included, and the last level is in firstPerson mode, as you take control of a tank ready to blow away the Afghan army. Did I mention it has a great, kinda original, soundtrack( + effects(at the same time, pretty rare in C64 games)).
Great stuff.
