Another top notch sequel, although getting out from behind trees in certain situations can be more than a little frustrating. Can't fault it otherwise.

The Best Golf sim on the 64, setup to be playable by all skill levels with loads of available courses. The control system was iterated upon by later games but this is where the three button system has its roots.

I'm aware that probably it is the more refined in the series technically but there's something with the graphics that annoys me: the different shade of green of the field, the darker one, which has a weird grid-like effect and it looks particularly messed up playing on my C128 for some reason. It's very messy compared to the polished, relaxing graphics of the previous two games, therefore it's my least favourite in the series.

I have happy memories of playing this on Sunday afternoons with my dad, back in the 1990s. I'd love to revisit those blissful days.

At the time it was, for me, the peak of sports sims available. Still very playable today. I have an admittedly biased view of this game as it was the only game I could get my late father to play with me. We had many happy hours together playing this and for that I am forever grateful to it.

I never really got the hang of it back then, maybe my young mind could not cope with it.
My dad however loved it.

When I was at school, he played a lot.

Tried it again a couple of years ago and finally understood it.
:-)

Based on a sport that I can neither stand to physically play or watch - and yet it plays brilliantly, the control system and the accuracy required make this game competitive and addictive. Played it to death back in the day.

Probably the best golf game on 64. The screen draw is too slow, especially when there are a lot of trees but otherwise it's a classic.

I've had 20+ years to think about which Leaderboard game I like best and I still can't decide. Personal preference aside, WCLB is the best of the lot which makes it the best sports game on the 64. I would even go so far as to say that it's the best computer golf game of all time.

Nice one... No golf sim on the Commie improved on this.

Played this and the original and this is better. I also got the famous courses disk and my fav is Muirfield. But when I want to play a really challenging round of golf that offers more options and greater difficulty, I load up Nick Faldo's Championship Golf. These are the two best golf sims for the 64. The rest are crap!

The only golf I ever played was this game. I enjoyed it but would never ever consider playing the real thing.

Came with a little card asking you to send in your best round, and then they had a play off at The Belfry to win a set of clubs.
Broke my joystick the day before and played with a borrowed stick, came 3rd.
Great game.
Only recently bettered with the Tiger Woods on X-box etc, and they've a little more firepower to help them out.

Loved the original, but this one was infinitely better. Only a few golf games have come close to the playability of this one since.

Excellent effort, but who can enjoy a golf sim? Golf: one of the most boring, pointless games ever.

There has not been a better golfgame before or after this one. The gameplay is absolutely fantastic. We used to meet up att my place as kids and play this game, and we had loads of fun. It's a great one player game aswell. I don't like golf but I love this game. 9/10

Quite possibly one of the best C64 games ever (Bit of a bummer of you didn't like golf games). This was very well suited to the C64 & the gameplay was superb. 10/10

Like this wasn't brilliant in its time... This one should be rated a lot better... Leaderboard is a category of its own
Kubes 2003-12-09
I think this is the only game I remember 'wanting'. All of the other C64 games I had I just got from the market for £5
Stotto 2003-07-09
The best cbm64 game ever made !

Brilliant game! , deserves 10/10 not the 7/10 it's averaging. Perhaps a lot of people voting just don't like golf. In it's day this was the ultimate in golf games. Three courses to choose from- St. Andrews, Doral Country Club and Cypress Creek all of which were accurately reproduced considering the limitations of the machine. The method for hitting the ball in the Leaderboard series (power and snap) and reading putts (shadow marker showing direction and speed of putt) was truely ground breaking at the time. I like what they did to make the putting harder than the previous two leaderbord games when playing on the hardest difficulty setting. The power bar would dissapear so that you had to use your imagination to get the correct power. This not only made the game even more realistic (afterall, you have to use your imagination on the real golf course) but it was also unique. Fantastic game! .

This had everything you could ever want in a golf game, with a multitude of different terrain types, clubs, wind speeds, height differences and courses. Proof that, apart from the graphics, very little has canged in the way of golf games for the past decade.

An improved Leaderboard... FANTASTIC!!!
sauron101 2003-01-13
I still play this one. Well the one with the punch shot which helped A LOT.
Studly 2003-01-09
Not really a golf fan but I enjoyed playing this game a lot. Prolly the best golf game on the C64.
Azash 2002-10-07
The ultimate golf game. If you haven't played it, you've missed one of the best games ever released on the C64.
evilEd 2002-02-15
A golf game could hardly be better. With its different surfaces, 72 holes to play, realistic environment (trees, lakes... ), three different degrees of difficulty, and up to four players this is THE golf simulation for any computer
Shane 2002-01-09
An improved version of one of the best sports sims on the 64
