The newspaper headlines whenever you win or lose a level are brilliantly done as well ("Ness Dies In Bloodbath" and "Police Clean Up Alleys" were always my favourites!).
The game is, however, let down by the ridiculously difficult and overlong first level, which I suspect quite a few people never managed to pass back in the day, meaning the subsequent more enjoyable levels were unfortunately missed.
To the game's credit, the levels follow the plot of the movie quite nicely, and if you make it to the end you get to shoot Nitti off the roof to avenge Malone's murder. Very satisfying! 😁
Well, only took me 30 years work this out!
Brilliant Game!! - 10/10
Like with Platoon, it was a decade or so later, when I found hacked versions, that I enjoyed level selection and things to make the game really that much more accessible and enjoyable.
6/10.
I played it a couple of times on VICE so I could use warp mode during loading, and it still lasted long. Nice audio btw. XI
Than there is that top view save the baby lever that is kinda frustration but a nice challenge.
Graphics are very well done, nice soundfx or music.
The movie was super btw.
Costner, Garcia, de Niro and don't forget a great role of Sir Sean!!!
not just the first part. They're all lacking in one way or another.
shame.
Still, a first rate production.
