Way better than Superstar Soccer, this game has gorgeous animations, good speed and nice effects, but still imperfect gameplay. Goalie's a. I. Is probably the main lack. Only fair

This game is the reason why I love sports games to this day! I spent years looking for the same features that this game offered on systems that were much more advanced than the 64. Truly ahead of its time.

I'm aware that the trading part of the game is popular, but the game as such is a letdown. I never got into it.

This game is outstanding along with the soccer and basketball versions. More stats that any game prior. Trades? It was unheard of at this point! 10/10

This game got a 10/10 in my book!!! It was awesome... Building up your franchise was kewl... I still own the disc for the game, wish i could still play it!!!

Developing players was what made this game great. I learned how to always score after a while if I got a rush on the goalie. But still this was the best sports game I had pre Madden. To make a rookie, and trade him away. Then watch him develop over the 9 years they gave you before it rolled.
I once had it sent to me with that emulator. But I never tried to figure out how to get it to work. If anyone has it or knows anyway to again play it. PLEASE TELL!

Great game! I had a trick when winning the faceoff where i could score every time as long as i timed my move. The gm, coaching, and player ratings made this a great game for 1987.

Hockey games are better now, but I've never enjoyed a videogame as much as this one. It sure was easy to score, once you know how, though. I would play entire seasons in goal cuz I was sick of cheating... That has to count for something.

I've got an original version of this game, but it's called American Ice Hockey. Nice game anyway :)

Great game! You were the coach, GM and player all in one. Gameplay was excellent, the computer was challenging and the repaeating seasons left you coming back for more. Oh and one old cheat... Train a player with a 0 for his stats and then trade him for ANYONE for nothing but the arbitration fee!

LOL, we use 2 call this game ole fogey hockey b/c they look like old men hunched over. Besides that I use 2 play this game a lot, it was pretty good.

The US version lets you play through an entire season and has a very cool player manager for multiple seasons. I hope someone finds it and we can retire this crappy cassette version that is floating around. T

This game is one of the best in the genre... I remember never learning and therefor challenging. I always played the goalie which is not that common in other icehockey games. It rules man! I loved tjis one

This is a very fun game. It can be tricky at times. The best part of this game is how funny it is! Sometimes when you hit someone, they will do flips in the air. Everytime you see the ref, he has a different facial expression. Sometimes he will smile when the other team scores a goal!!
Burzum 2002-03-20
Great game! Remember I even managed to score a goal from behind by hitting the goalkeeper in his neck :-)

This game rules! It has trades, the draft and you can improve individual players from when they are rookies till when they get too old to skate. A challenge to win the cup, and to keep it.

At a first look, this game does not look impressive at all and the slow movement of the players is frustrating but don't let you that put you off cause it has very good gameplay and it is a challange to improve the team over the seasons! This game has a very good lastability, I still play it frequently on my CCS64-emulator
