It's a better conversion than the original but its still rather slow and the gameplay hasn't exactly evolved either. An Ok conversion of a bare bones sequel.

Sluggish and tedious. The C64 couldn't hope to reproduce the arcade original in any way whatsoever. Pure cash grab from greedy publishers.

Not a good game. Very slow and clunky. My copy doesn't display color either!! Just white vector lines, making it even less attractive than the one displayed

So why didn't Lucasfilm do any of the Star Wars games back in the 80's? That's their big cash cow these days.

Looked nice and played well. Another competent conversion. :)

I can remember begging my friend for a whole week to get a copy of this game. Finally he gave in, and a quick copy courtesy of good ole Fast Hack'em, and I was in star wars Bliss. This is the closest you can get to being in nathans without the hotdogs.

Brilliant conversion. Neat color-vector-graphics and the necessary sound (no more, no less). A great game. Try it now.

A cool arcade conversion, just a little bit too blocky (but what do you expect from a 8-bit system with multicolor resolution of 160x200 ?).

Now, this is sad, very sad ...

The Empire Strikes Back!
colour Vector Graphics, chunky but the closest you'd get to an arcade machine.
It's great, dodge the asteroids, shoot down tie-fighters, terrible sound, C64 gaming at it's best!
Score? 95% for pure retro value.
