Spellbreaker

This was a tough game. Not impossible but tough for my friend and me at the age of 16. One caveat for anyone attempting this game nowadays. There was a "bug" in the game that allowed you to beat the "troll in the cave" puzzle in a way not intended by the designers. It may be fixed in your version but in case it isn't (it wasn't in mine) here's a tiny hint. "Don't use time stop and blorple a non-cube item to beat the troll puzzle! "(there's a different solution). People who did found themselves stuck later in the game and unable to finish it.

Great finish to the Enchanter series. But it is by far one of the hardest games ever to comeo ut of Infocom. There is one particular puzzle near the end that requiers you to cheat, be a logic wiz, or to have unbelievable luck. The end, however, is fitting for this great trilogy.

The third and final part of a loosely connected trilogy which began with Enchanter (originally intended as Zork IV) and continued with Sorceror. Infocom labeled Spellbreaker's difficulty as "advanced" for a good reason -- it's probably one of their toughest games. The puzzles are often fiendishly difficult, but fortunately they're never illogical and the writing's strong enough to sustain your interest and desire to succeed. Anyone prepared to expend a bit of brain power will be richly rewarded.
