I loved this game. Gameplay was a variation of the Flimbo's Quest concept of going back and forth, picking up objects and deliveries to complete, but it's got a lot more going on. Graphics are excellent, gameplay is smooth, music is great. Very difficult without savestates, but a late C64 entry that deserved more recognition.

Hmmm. Not sure about this. It looked and sounded pleasant enough but the gameplay seemed a little sparse at times. Was just OK IMHO. :?

I recall that this game also received an exceptionally poor review in the short-lived "Commodore Power" magazine. To add insult to injury, that magazine also gave its contemporary release - the abysmal "Cisco Heat" - a review in the region of 60%. I can only conjecture that Mirrorsoft had bribed the reviewer (while Starbyte Software had, presumably, insulted the reviewers of both "Commodore Power" and "Commodore Format" ).

I've played a lot on Amiga but completely forgot this game. The C64 version is an extraordinary colourful addictive and deep platform, sprites are among the best/cutiest seen on this machine (expecially yours), scolling is OK, lot of things and bonus to collect... But most of all, the gameplay is particularly impressive. A masterpiece.

Great little game with exceptionally fun music. Don't think it unfortunately ever got the attention it deserved but well worth a look again.

I've only tried the demo on the front of CF and the Amiga version, but as a kid, I loved this game. I loved the graphics, I loved the urban atmosphere, I loved the music, and it was just really well done. I haven't played it for a year at least but I still found it quite fun last time.

This game was the victim of a scandalously poor review in Commodore Format #16 which completely missed the only real sore point: lack of originality. Rolling Ronny is a pretty shameless rip-off of Flimbo's Quest, or possibly Hawkeye, but professionally done. Graphics are exceptional - particularly the multi-layer parallax scrolling in level 2 - but not quite up to the level of Flimbo, ditto the sound. On the other hand, Rolling Ronny is far less frustrating on account of timer reset for each level, less 'sudden death' situations, and no power-ups stolen when you die. The multiload is also pleasantly quick. Possibly the best 64 game of its type.

A most excellent platform game. The tried and tested jump-n-run formula is being updated by strategic use of power-ups. The graphics are gorgeous with a great parallax effect, it's fast, ultra-playable, and in later levels quite frenetic. Great stuff...
