Certainly on par with the previous one, both in terms of quality, gameplay and difficulty, but graphix and other details are even better. I prefer the more adventurous settings of the first than some of the sci-fi ones of this sequel, but some stages are very well-designed. If you liked the first you'll love this one too; same if you hated it, since the whole "trial and error" routine and unforgiving difficulty are the same.

As a sequel it ranks much higher but unfortunately the same type of trial and error approach makes this title to be targetted only to the specific audience. Not everybody likes the games to be played that way.

Excellent platformer, on par with its predecessor, both of which are must-haves for any C64 fan (as well as Amiga fans). I preferred the "Indiana Jones" style (with "ancient kingdoms" scenarios) of the first over the "Superhero" style (with sci-fi scenarios) of the second, but the latter has a key improvement in the dynamite mechanic.

Very difficult but a whole lot of fun to play. Great addictive platform action :)

Played it on C64 and Amiga, and remember it as pretty the same, which enhance it's significance on Commodore scene. Good graphics and improvement on every department comparing to original. Oh, yes, including all the frustrations that enraged me in part one! XI

Another Rick Dangeorus game, the same old trial and error garbage. It's amazing how much people can forgive when you've got some fairly cute graphics and a shedload of hype.

Rick dangerous repeat his unfair cruel hidden traps this time on a space adventure, graphics are nicely done (little better than the first one) You are going to love Rick dangerous II if you liked the first part. I love all saga, a third part would have been good to see, don't you think?

Great graphics colourful cartoonish backg and athmosphere but too much difficulty, you have to dead several times to go on, it's frustrating.

Far better the the precursor with very good graphics - particularly the second level ('The Ice Caverns of Freezia') looks wonderful...

A great game.

Was this the one with the spelling error in the inlay?

Yeps yeps. I've played Rick 2 also mostly on the Amiga. And by the way, I've completed it - without trainers! It took a long while, but I got better and better and eventually beat the game! :D

Few sequels were better than the original (Turrican was indeed)... But the original remains THE original... :puppy:

Good platformer, but too much like TDP said; Walk, trap, walk, trap, enemy... Nice graphics though.

The grapchics are a little better, but I liked the first one the most.

Rick's second adventure?Excellent work! Varied and detailed graphic, funny sounds/music, huge levels and... Impossiblity to complete without cheats. That's the only problem in this great game. R. DANGEROUS 2. :Pretty like the japanese girls, long like the chinese great wall, sounds good like a kagura sweep and impossible like a victory over Bruce Lee... 9/10

Quick impression for you: walk, walk walk, CRAP, A TRAP! Walk (again), walk, walk, dodge the trap, OH NO! ANOTHER TRAP! Rinse and repeat and you have Rick D 2. Nice idea, but really irritating and not very intuitive to play.

Having played both the 1st and 2nd RD I must say RD 2 is better in grafix wise but somehow a lot more harder to play than the prequel was.. Still a excellent game in its own right...

Not as good as Rick's first outing.
Teemu Korvenpää 2003-12-14
Superb game... I have two new RD2 cas/ver and disc/ver in brand new non opened boxes :-)
Mayweed 2003-08-16
One of the best C64 game !!
Toggle 2003-07-19
Brilliant graphics but [like in the first part] a weak soundtrack. It's not as unfair as its prequel and easily tops it in playability and fun.
TWR 2003-07-04
I cracked this on the Amiga in the beginning of the 90's. It was a pretty cool game I remember, not as much fun as the first Rick but still a great game. The 64 version I have never tried. If you have this (disk/tape) then mail me at [email protected] and remember... Boycott trendy emulator crap - Get the real thing !!! The C64 is alive !!!
Ome Cor 2003-06-22
This game (and also part one) must be one of the worst games ever!
About 9 out of 10 times you'll get killed by invisible traps which makes it more of a memory-game than a platformer.
LeeT 2002-10-09
Definetly not as good as the
first one - Looks like Firebird just wanted to squeeze out a sequel cos RD1 sold pretty well.
Gets quite monotonous and difficult.
Slator 2002-08-31
To get unlimited lives you have to enter "JE VEUX VIVRE. " you better put the full-stop there or you won't get any cheat. If the cheat works the logos in the intro will turn red.
Janika from Hungary 2002-04-04
I think it's funnier than the first episode. Nice music/FX, cool graphics (especially in the ice cavern level), great "intros", etc...
And Rick, my hero... :-)
Alex Aslanidis 2002-03-01
This is not just a good follow-up to RD 1. It 's one of the best C64 games ever. An amazingly addictive platform game with few puzzle elements. Great intro sequences, large & difficult levels, great & easy controls, all add to the fun. Many hours of enjoyment await you.
Kim Lemon 2002-02-27
I was disappointed with this one... I think the first RD was waaay more fun!
Clyde 2002-02-27
Ricky's back! This time without his hat ;-)
I agree with Aliens. This is a worthy follow up on RD part one. Again a great challenge: not for lazy gamers! Classic!
Aliens 2002-02-19
Superb! Imagine A game like the fantastic Rick Dangerous, with more screens, graphics, enemies and a lot of new surprises... ;)
