This game is awesome. And so underrated next to Katakis, R-Type or Nemesis, to name a few. Sadly my version always crashes for no reason.

Very good graphics, technical magick! Nice combo of hi-res and multicolour graphics.

Really tough but fantastically original. Thematic levels with many varied enemies. Two player simultaneous? Yes please!

I remember becoming reasonably capable on the 1st level demo I got on the front of Zzap! , but ultimately that's what stopped me buying the game. That level was so impossibly tough that I must have come to the conclusion that I'd got my fun from my freebie and there was no point in buying the full game, as I'd never fully appreciate it. As the reviewer said, one for the 'Aliens', but for the rest of us, stay away until you've cut yr teeth on something a little less strenuous. That said, lovely graphics, fine sound and a true challenge of a game. One of Mr Crowther's best.

@riviero2: "at his time it was a classic"?!? That makes no sense, mate...

Great, original, addictive and evocative shooter. One of the best of its genre; at his time it was a classic.

Good old Antony Crowther. I think he is the person who made the most games on the C64 of anyone else. I remember his debut in as early as 1983-4 with KillerWatt, Gryphon, Locco, Son of Blagger, etc. He was also responsible for one of the best designer tools on the C64 - his sprite, font and character designer was used by many artists, gamedesigners, demomakers, etc. It was very easy to use and had every tool needed to make levels, characters, sprites, screens. Together with Ben Daglish they also made a number of cool demos on compunet, as Ratt and Ben. The TRAP-Demo is famous for its innovative look and sound. It was a part of the game and also a comercial for the compunet too. Those were the days... I am grateful for having been a part of it.

I remember this game, it used a programming technique which switched between two colours really quickly (several times a second) to give the programers an extra 16 colours to play with. Thats why it looks so funky.
not as good as Armalyte and katakis but still a good shooter though.

Over-rated rubbish. I hate the look of this game, and the gameplay, and pretty much everything else as it happens. Still, someone must like it. It's in the top 25 as I write.

Quite nice shmup but by no means outstanding.
There are many horizontally scrolling progressive ones better than this, although it can be fun for a while. The choose your route feature is nice as is the two players option, but I don't like much the graphics style and the gameplay leaves quite a lot to be desired.

Titlesound is amazing!!! But the game? There are much more better shoot'em ups on the C64. I didn't like the style of the graphics, but technically they are superb! Where is the sequel? Sorry, but only 6/10

Never played the game but the tune is one of my all time faves on the C64 (got a copy as a digi-crack on some disk from my cousin) - it has an amazingly moody and haunting feel to it that still grabs me every time I listen to it.

What an excellent shoot'em up game this is. Brilliant graphics. Colourful sprites and superb backgrounds. The sound is the weak part, but it doesn't bother you too much since the game-play is super. A very good game.

Great looking Shoot 'em Up, I really loved it and played it pretty far. As far as I can remember it was pretty tricky to play, I went barking mad everytime I got killed and had to play the same level parts over and over again.

I loved the game. Quite frustrating though as the copy I bought way back when and all downloads I've found only had side 1. You get halfway through and that's it!

Nice concept with good audio/visuals, but let down by the gameplay. There's just something lacking. It's very playable, but I just never found it all that addictive for some reason.
