It IS, however, very overwhelming to begin with.
The game basically throws so many enemies at you, and from all directions that your gut reaction is to panic and move constantly. Don’t.
The key to success is to take it slowly, identify the different enemies and to isolate the ones that are important and which ones to avoid.
A predetermined number of Vacilators have to be destroyed on each of the three levels, followed by five Gyphons and a Mothership. Mini-bosses appear on levels two and three also.
Destroy the cyan and green Carriers and they’ll leave smartbombs and extra energy. Waves of Scout ships enable extra weaponry.
Graphics are great, especially level one, and the soundtrack by Johannes Bjerregaard is one of his best.
An overlooked gem in my book.
