Great game. Along with Laser squad Blade software made two of the best games for the C64. This one was great one player but even better with multiple players. Summoning monsters and casting spells, great memories. Can't believe it's been about 25 years since I was playing this.

This was one of the more outstanding C64 titles I owned.
The graphics were rather average but it deserves 10/10 for gameplay. This kind of classic never ages (like chess) and I agree that this classic should have a remake, not a spiritual successor- an actual remake, with gorgeous modern visuals. Fantastic game.
Loved the way that each beast you create has it's own special skillset- undead can't be killed unless they fight undead. Vampires could change into bats for scouting. Winged horses could be flown. And there was a discovery element to the game that added a bit of luck to everything.

A cracking little strategy gem from the master of the genre. There's bloody YEARS of gaming joy to be had in this one, especially with friends.

The only downside is that it reminds me its even better precursor, Chaos, was never ported to the C64. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

*sniff* the memories... This is absolutly one of my favorites. Lords of chaos was the FIRST game I got (again) after I upgraded to Amiga 500, it was slighlty better because of the better graphic. Me and my pals had rules when playing eachothers, we werent allowed to see eachothers move  so the ones who dident have the turn was forced to look away.

It started with Laser Squad and then progressed onto Lords Of Chaos and eventually spread to the X- Com games (not on C64 of course!)... What am I talking about? My addiction to these turn based strategy games!

I played them for hours on end, developing various strategies to destroy my mates with (CUE EVIL LAUGH) MWaahhhahahahahaaa

Absolutely amazing, along with laser squad one of the best ever C64 games...

for Jari: the best way is to play an emulation of this game

Simply THE BEST!

Simply one of the best games ever written.

You controlled creatures, made spells - bit like a cross between dungeons and dragons and them choose your own adventure books.

Anyone know where I could get the extra levels from, as there were only a few included in the original.

One of the BEST game ever! Especially when played against some freinds. This game was releasied 1989 and today we still play it with friends!

GREAT game... This was as close as you could come to a fantasy-lasersquad. BIG game with a lot to do and a LOT of monster to create..

This was recently re-made as the very good Magic & Mayhem and the decent but very buggy Art of Magic
