While licenced by United Artists, they couldn't use the music. Whittaker did an awesome job with the soundtrack taking inspiration from pieces of the Bond music.

My favorite levels are the first two.
The helicopter moves very fluidly with smooth background scrolling.

The 2nd level is the most fun with a shootout with the bad guys. The one joystick controls are a little tricky. Hold action to aim. Move up or down to go out of aim mode. With practice, it works fine.

The best of the 8-bit Bond games!

The example of what not to do when you have a movie licence. Lvl 2 is OK but should have been the basis of the game Infiltrator-style with varying objectives, exploring, and a multi-directional map. The rest is just boring filler that is slavishly trying to follow the movie plot without any real thought about whether it adds anything to the game overall. The background graphics dithering could have been used more sparingly for a better effect.

Easily the best Bond license game on the 8 & 16-bits. The graphics style and level of detail is perfect, especially the ground texturing, while making everything important still stand out. Gameplay in the later levels becomes a little more hit & miss, and the jet-skiing can be mostly about luck, but the beginning and particularly level 2 is very good. A whole game built on the level 2 gunplay style could be very enjoyable.

Lvl 1 ok, lvl 2 idiotic, the control is designed someone who never played the game. This thing is pure crap control wise.

gfx: 9/10
msx: 9/10
sfx: 8/10
ply: 3/10

my score: 6/10

Very nice game, first level is really fun but I felt that the level design and objectives were badly though of during later levels.

This has a great James Bond feel. It's a good idea to watcht the movie first, because the action doesn't make sense otherwise.

James Bond 2004-03-14
This is probably the best James Bond game that was made in the 1980s. It's also probably the best James Bond for the Commodore 64. The graphics were good for it's time and the gameplay was great to say the least. Sadly, the game does not have the greatest ending in the world. It's just one or two sentences saying you beat the game and good job. I remember that one of my favourite things in this game was going "Fishing" for Sanchez's plane and going waterskiing behind a plane in the 4th level. :) There was also good sound too compared to the IBM PC version. There are more realistic sounding gunshots, you hear the rotors on your helicopter spinning in the first level, and many other things. This game is probably one of my favourite games made in the 1980s. I remember that the second level was rather difficult because if you were shot five times you started the game from the start of the mission.

Good Bond-Game! Yes, hard it was, but it had that one-more-try feeling. Graphics and Music are great! 9/10

The only Bond-game I ever had on the C64 (untill the emulator of course), but this is the best bond-game available. The variation between the levels is very nicely done. The only Bond-game better than this one is Nightfire for the PC (but that's cheating ;)

The best Bond-game for the 64. Superb graphics, excellent sound but the game-play got a bit frustrating because it's so damn hard to complete.

This game was really really hard, but had great graphics for its time. Not the game you'll spend hours enjoying but more pulling your hair out as you edge closer to the second level... No cheaters now!
