So rarely in my childhood was I so deeply disappointed and disturbed simultaneously. Normally I love Neil Brennan's music (it's usually very atmospheric), but this ear-piercing psychotic mess without any musicality to it hurts my very being.

It's almost as if the worst possible, high-pitch sounds were created, then a random generator was used for the rest.

There's NOTHING good about this game, music, graphics, gameplay are all awful, and the complete lack of atmosphere completes the ugliness.

Of course modern people love crap, so that explains the praise.

How could Melbourne House sink so low from the brilliance of its heyday?

It isn't a brilliant game, but it's fun for a while.
Zzap64 were rather harsh on this one!

First impressions are that this is utterly random and very strange. Second impression is that it's very much in keeping with the other 2000AD licenses. In a strange way, it actually looks more fun than the later license, which operates along the same lines, but whilst it's much closer to the comic, it's very dull. There is a glimmer of intrigue with the MH game that might drag me back to it at some point.

I loved the game as a kid but playing it now the game seems awful. Repetetive game play to the max.

Graphics were okay, but the game wasn't. Remember a friend having this one on tape. The best thing of this tape was that you could play space invaders while loading.

Horrible yet catchy music. Horrible yet catchy gameplay. Horrible graphics with barely recognisable characters. There's gameplay in here but it takes forever to figure it out. I owned the game, but all I ever figured out was you could change bullet type, you could switch between shout/warn/kill, the thing that looks like a roll of sausages is your energy, and you had to catch a perp. There's some fun in this, but I really don't know why. It should be criminal. It's not as bad as Zzap! Said, but that's not saying much.

For years I had this little tune playing in my head from time to time. I couldn't figure out where it was from apart from the fact it was music from some C64 game. Last week, it suddenly came to me. Could it be Melbourne House's Judge Dredd? So I downloaded the ROM and... Yes! The music's there! I was so happy. It would haunt me no more. Funny thing is, the last time I had played the game was some 18 years ago when it originally came out... As for the game, below mediocre at best but oddly sympathetic. Dredd would think that's a crime though... :-/

Very cool music and atmosphere but the gameplay itself pretty much blows. 5/10

Another cartoon licence I hear you cry... And you're right !!! It is boring !!! The graphics and sound/music is OK but game-play lacks majorly !!!

I still am such a fan of the comic Judge Dredd and when this came out I almost emptied my bank account to pay the giant sum of 10 quid for it and simply regretted it a disappointment (even though the underworld music was excellent), it was just so tough!
