I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this on a C64. The graphics are just beautiful. Sadly the loading times are not.
If you can cope with this (or play on an emulator), you get an amazingly good treasure hunt!

The screenshots on the box pulled me in as a kid, and I dropped some allowance on this one. Yeah it looks nice, but after a while, the graphics became more of a punishment as the load times required to get to them really sucked away any sense of "adventure" that seeing them brought. It didn't help that I was en elementary school kid and not exactly a "master" of the English language - this game just wasn't for me. Perhaps I should try again in emulation.

I bought this game and remember it came with some interesting items in the game box, like a membership certificate into the thieves guild. I remember that I had some issues typing in the words it would ask for from the game manual that served as a copyright protection. Mostly the game was unplayable because of that. But it looked great on the C64 for the time.

Now I've gone joining the Club, of those who has the C64 original of this game :) My 3'rd from Rainbird (Adventure). Lovely artwork and a nice original game. Got only top scores when reviewed in magazines. Feels better to buy a game that has extras and is professional made, than the cheap games in only a double cassette cover. Instructions would be short and in 10 languages. Felt kind of ripped off, looking at something that looks like a book (cardboard box with lot's of room). I would. ;)

Having played through most of it to get the screenshots, I have to admit that I'm not too impressed. The game works, but some of the puzzles are way off-logic. I'm also not a great fan of the graphics.

Great game, good graphics, although I prefer "The Pawn".

Walkthrough available online... You'll need it.

I had this game and it was fun. Except for one thing... My instruction book was incomplete so when it asked me for a word for copyright reasons I couldn't find it!! Lol!
I actually tried to call Rainbird, and I ended up calling a bookstore in England!!! HAHAHA
Oh well...
hey guys try Hydrax from BCI if you want a tough game :)

Classic. One of the best adventure games I played. Now if someone could hand me a solution :-).

The best adventure game made by Magnetic Scrolls. Too tough, but very enjoyable. A must have

Only infocom and the other games by magnetic scrolls can compare to this adventure. The story and atmosphere of this game are unique, the pictures are very beautiful. IMO it is a little too hard even for skilled adventurers. I first played it in 1987 and I have never finished it. I keep trying :)

Now this was class! Magnetic Scrolls came up trumps with this one. Had the Atari ST (sorry!) version of this and it kept me going for weeks and weeks - a real classic!
