Amazing game and amazing conversion. I think that I still have the cover booklet from the original floppy disk version.

When I saw the Amiga version, I was so jealous because I thought the C64 could never do the same graphics. But when I saw the pictures on Zzap! I was shocked. I immediately bought the game, spending with it hours and hours of fun.
Grat graphics, challenging puzzles... The game looks nearly perfect, but of course it has its flaws too.
First of all the combat system. It's almost impossible to fight with the axe and survive. I remember I activated a cheat to have endless arrows, this maade things much easier.
Second, the spells. I understand this is a good protection against piracy, but reading the book with the red plastic window on is a real pain. Luckily you don't need many spells, but still...
We could also complain about the lack of in-game music, but it's not that important. We were used, back then, to choose between music and SFX because we couldn't have them both.
Balancing the pros and cons, I still believe it's a great game, every C64er must have.

Incredible conversion to the 64, this one. Graphics are genuinely amazing. Less fortunate is the amount of loading and disk swapping needed because of this. On a stock 1541, it's actually unbearable.

The game itself is a fun, if tricky adventure title. The combat was a major pain in the rear though. I probably like it more than I should, thanks to the atmosphere and the endorsement of the megababe Elvira herself.

Overall, a mixed bag, but a gorgeous one.

Loved playing it. Great graphics and challenging puzzles. The only gripe I have is the total lack of any music in the game. The ominous silence did have an eery effect, but a few masterfully crafted tracks in strategic places could've boosted the game so much more.

The Amiga version is great. I've never played the 64 version but it seems to be a fine work. If it looks like Castle Master, it must be fantastic. If you have this game please send me a mail at [email protected]

One of my favourite 64 games. Eventhough the title probably turned off a lot of people and one spent most of his time flower picking in the game (to brew witches' spells) it was a bloody puzzle-type game which was very satisfying to solve through (especially when you got stuck on certain parts). Oh yeah the music was great as well. This game reminded me a lot of shadowgate for the first gen nintendo.

elvira 2 with the movie studio (this could be wax works but I don't think so) I didn't like as much. It was too hard and had a strange setting.

Very brave attempt for the C64 to release a High-Tec game like this. I never got too far in it but I play this again someday.

Good game, scary graphics, but all together this game was pretty good.
