A decent Gauntlet variant but not much more than that, especially given the clunky interface.

Vastly overrated. The big bold graphics are not an improvement on the first one,
quite the contrary. The sound FX are still weak. Would rather play Gauntlet.

Don't know what all the fuss was about, Gauntlet crushes it! Yes, the title screen is breathtaking and the music is atmospheric but the game is just a damp squib. The GFX are very pretty too, which is a pity. I'm just glad I never paid full price for it! :(

I have to apologize for the crude remark I made @ bronstein - if I could edit it out I would. But to say that "Two things are memorable about this one" & then mention 2 minor aspects of the game is really beyond belief for anyone of any intelligence. For an example of a well-written review, I must point out that Takumaji's reviews are always a pleasure to read. Well-written & to the point exactly.

O nuts to the title screen & the music - what about the gameplay? Maybe U should take your "Commie" & shove it where the sun don't shine!

Two things are memorable about this one: The magnificent title screen, and then of course the music.

No other tune on the Commie sounds so medieval. Someone should do a remake with a spinet and put it on RKO.

Great Gauntlet-style game with good graphics and sound, I still love the medieval-sounding title track. Druid II has even more to offer than said Gauntlet and the prequel, it's easy to get into and difficulty is balanced once you get the hang of it. 8/10.

Great great game. Great great tune. And you can play with 2 players (one using golem).
I want to finish it some day...

Great sequel to a great game. These Druid games looks good, sounds good and plays good. Shouldn't be missed by any true 64 user.

Never played DII but I love the SID tune--->fairlight theme

Yes, Druid one did have a Golem as well and was much better than Gauntlet.

The best game in the world!

There's nothing special with this game, after all it's just some kind of Gauntlet-Clone. But hey... The title music was really great!
Jocke 2002-03-09
Actually better than the original Druid. More spells and more diversed levels. I really can't remember if it was possible to summon a Golem helper in Druid I, but I don't think so. If I remember correctly you could have a friend control the Golem, so you could play Druid II in coop mode. Good music too.
