Frightmare's comments echo my own, apart from the fact that slowdown in certain sections is a pain and the jump mechanic, that requires two well timed prods of the joystick to jump higher, is particularly awkward to execute - to the point of vexation - in certain sections of the game.

More straight-up shoot 'em up than its predecessor, it's even better in terms of atmosphere, soundtrack, graphics and animations; more on the horror side, it features a wide array of enemies and ravishing sceneries, and the Matt Gray tunes are just classic. The only downsides are the brutal difficulty level and the jump system, not very practical, otherwise it would have been a 9/10. This was definitely one of those C64 games with a "wow factor" back in 1990, and it has aged very well.

Don't like this one much. Death traps everywhere combined with odd and awful jumping controls wrecks the feel of the game. It also dropped the puzzle elements that the first game had.

One of those many games on the C64 that seemed to prioritise being hard over being fluid and fun. Boobs and nice music, but other than those this one doesn't do it for me.

Good game nice graphics, need a little practice with the jump as you can jump higher and higher. Enjoyed the game, have some good idea like stop on a screen and fight with some enemies before you can advance. To bad you have to choose between fx and music, you can't have both of them.
Missing some end sequence badly.

I give 8/10
-1 for music or fx option only
-1 for missing end

:D

Everything about this game is wicked, killer and sweet all in 1 - especially the music! Awesome gameplay, Awesome music, hard as hell in some places, but that's not a bad thing.

What good can be said about this game? It is quite inferior - I gave it a 4.

Just played through this and have to say that it's much better than the first game. Loads of variety in the levels and enemies and some interesting gameplay elements, inc blasteroid-influenced section. Sub-game is also fun. Good music too.

I read once the only good thing in Stormlord games is the naked babes, and I'm still quite inclined to believe that.

A beautiful follow up to a beautifully designed game. Amazing music, once again, much better level and enemy design The game is hard, but why oh why did they have to completely stuff up the jump system???

I really loved this game since it marked my youth: I remember the long sessions with old and new friends trying to pass the final bosses or to kill all that damned green men. Excellent graphics, good music, intensive gameplay... The game you want(ed) to have! :-)
