Come on now.
No way the C64 comes close graphically. But the visuals are nice.
But wait. Pick up some speed and the game controls really well. You can manoeuvre around barriers quite nicely with practice. Try to get fancy in the arcade version and you slide right off the track!
So maybe they were right?!
A lesson to not judge a book by the cover, many hours of fun followed and I never looked back.
This game proves to be better than the sum of all its parts, one of the better driving games for the commodore.
Difficulty ramps up quite steeply but not to an unfair level.
Responsible for me having many a late night back in the day.
Can be tough at first but once you memorise the Time gates on the tracks it becomes a lot easier.
Other than that the game is nice. Played the Amiga version first but I quite quickly I remembered the playability being much better so I tried the C64 version and it indeed is much better.
I remember spending pretty much all xmas day holed up in my room playing this, after getting it on a compilation "fists n throttles"- good days!
10/10
8 / 10
Some things im not so keen on. The unfair collision detection on bridges, the lack of any music on the title.
Small nitpicks though. A great game for score junkies.
these 2 are the best driving games on the C64 for me buggy boy is my favourite, its just more fun and more tempting too keep playing both very similar but power drift scores 7/10 and buggy boy 8/10 only my opinion
Graphics: 78

but once started I couldn't stop playing.
Great arcade racing fun.
beware it's very Addictive!
pretty cool, lot's of fun here
another of my fabourite games
The graphics obviously have dated but the gameplay is still there.
Music is good, not great and the sound effects are good for this type of game.
Zzap! 64 gave this a gold medal, I would have done at that time but now it would be just a sizzler with a overall score of 90%, but only just.
8/10
This game was THE BEST adaptation to me... Fast and reactif... A piece of masterpiece.
10/10 (I would have score it higher if I could... )
But then again this thing was made long before they came along as and it stands its still a great game.
not to hard either, and you never get tired of weeling or bumbing...
but with a little fine tuning I think it could have been a lot better. 7/10.
