In the late 80's, a mysterious software company was formed. Called Lucasfilm, the company started focusing on the adventure genre. In 1987, they created their first game which was Maniac Mansion, an adventure with comedy elements thrown in. Maniac Mansion was successful that they did a sequel to it in 1993. The company was renamed LucasArts then.
One night, a man by the name of Dr. Fred Edison, comes into a house and kidnaps a young girl called Sandy, and takes her to a mansion where she is taken to the secret lab, and plans to hook her up to a machine, which sucks peoples brains out. Her boyfriend, Dave, got up to check what the commotion was about and finds Sandy missing. Having figured that out by himself, he rings two of his friends, which then head off with him to the mansion and rescue Sandy from Fred.
At the start of the game, you get to choose two of six kids who will team up with Dave: Syd, Michael, Wendy, Bernard, Razor, and Jeff. You are required to select Dave, as the two kids you select will help him rescue Sandy. Once you select two other kids, all three will work together as a team. At some point in the game, the three will have to give something to each other so that they can use it on something that they can't.

| GRAPHICS - 9/10 |
Great. I played the PC version before. The graphics in the C64 version nearly
looks exactly like the one for the PC.
| | SOUND - 7/10 |
At the start of the game, rap music can be heard on the title screen, when
you die, and when you complete the game. This is the only music you ever hear.
The rest are sound effects only.
| | PLAYABILITY - 7/10 |
The game screen consists of the playing area where you see your character
perform an action, and 15 action you must perform to get through this game
(eg: Look at, Give, Use). Sometimes, you have to get the characters to give
something to one another.
| | OVERALL - 9/10 |
If you played Zork, one of the text adventures that include no graphics,
and, after a while, you get bored playing them for a while and want something
new for a change, this game will make you happy.
