It's the year AD2430 and the 2nd Solar War continues to rage on. From deep inside the enemy occupied Fifth Star System a distress message is transmitted.
SOS....CARGO BULK CARRIER SATURN VOYAGER....IDSY 4561....ENEMY ATTACK....ABANDONING SHIP....
Message ends.
The only ship within proximity and powerful enough is the battle fighter 'Force One'. As commander of Force One you have the daunting task of fighting through endless waves of enemy fighters to rescue the drifting escape pods. Good Luck.
This is the story that the instructions of Force One tells us to try to justify a game with no justification. I could better have written: "Go ahead and destroy all you can".
The game is a horizontal right-to-left scroll shoot'em up where you control a ship that moves up to the center of the screen, horizontally, and from the top 2/4 to bottom 3/4, vertically.
Enemies comes from right to left mostly, and you have to avoid them and their bullets. There are also enemies that comes from "your back".
All the waves are the same game to game, so you will eventually learn where to put your ship in the best place to kill them.
From time to time there is a pod that you have to leave pass for gain extra points.
Well, the game is repetitive and when you have played it for a time you will find it boring. Then you will reset or turn off your C64 for better things or games. But after some days or in a spare time of not knowing which game to play, maybe you will load it again to see how long you get.
I never managed to reach any place that tells me "level 1 completed" or "great! you finished the game". As the instructions say "you have the daunting task of fighting through endless waves of enemy fighters to rescue the drifting escape pods", it's for sure that there is no ending at all and there are only two things you can do to stop a game: die or turn off the computer.
I can't recommend the game but I could tell you to give it a try, just for the fun of testing it.

| GRAPHICS - 4/10 |
The graphics aren't brilliant but they serve for their purpose. There are many types of enemy ships and no background except for a scroll of dots from right to left.
| | SOUND - 1/10 |
No music -in the original game- and just two basic sounds. The engine noise and the explosions.
| | PLAYABILITY - 4/10 |
You can play it for a while, and it let's you to do it. But you won't get hooked for hours.
| | OVERALL - 3/10 |
It's a classical shoot'em up with no wills of making a good game. You can pass without it. But you better give it a try. Maybe you like it.
