Fiendish Freddy's Big Top 'o Fun 1990, Mindscape
I was browsing Lemon's site the other day and came across this one. Seeing it brought back a lot of sweet childhood memories...so I searched for the disk image on the net and started playing it on the emulator, after all these years.

Fiendish Freddy is a collection of circus games. It is divided to different stages, and each stage you have to perform a circus act. These include diving into water, juggling, jumping ropes, knife throwing...but they are not as easy as they may seem. After each stage a group of judges give you a score, and based on the score you will get paid. The goal of the game is to earn enough money in order to stop the circus business from going down.

The graphics are pretty good. The music is not bad either, just typical circus music stuff. The game design may seem simple at the beginning, but that's not so. The designers put a lot of thought in it to make it fun. The best thing about this game is its sense of humor. Different stages of the game are very fun each in their own way, and the judges are hilarious. There is nothing like missing the rope and seeing the character hit the ground with a big splat. Good stuff.

SUMMARY
I remember this game was a big party warmer. It is very entertaining and even more fun if you play it with someone else.

GRAPHICS - 7/10
Good graphics and the animations are detailed and appropriate.

SOUND - 7/10
Nothing special here, but the circus music and the sound effects set a very good mood.

PLAYABILITY - 8/10
It's a very funny game. It may not feel as funny these days, but I enjoyed it a lot as a kid. It depends if this type of sense of humour appeals to you or not.

OVERALL - 8/10
An original idea, and very entertaining indeed.
