Lazy Jones 1984, Terminal Software
What about a computer game that you can play computer games in it? Lazy Jones is a cute little game that is basically a collection of a few arcade games. You play as lazy Mr. Jones, who wanders in corridors and opens doors to rooms which have various arcade machines inside. There are three floors in the game, each containing 6 doors. Three of the doors lead to rooms that don't have any arcade machines inside them (two have a bed that Jones can take nap, and one is a small closet). So the game has 13 games to play totally. You can move to different floor using a lift. There is also one moving obstacle in each floor that you have to avoid by jumping over it.

The games have a big variety: Shoot'em ups (V/H scrolling), mind games, Arkanoid style games, etc. All the games are very well implemented and fun to play. Most of the games require swiftness as well as exact timings. In all the games you race against time. The timer ticks down and you will also lose time faster if you get hit by something, depending on the game you are playing.

The music consists of 22 short melodies; each one played when you enter a different room. All the melodies are very good, and they give you the feeling of racing against time. They make a very cool song if you append them all together in one track.

When you finish all the rooms, you move to a new level with the same rooms and same games, but in a different order. The only downside to Lazy Jones is you can only lose a life by getting hit by one of the baddies moving in the floors, so a game can go on forever until you eventually get tired of it and reset your C64.

SUMMARY
Lazy Jones offers a lot of variety. It’s highly replayable because it has many games in it and all of them are arcade style. The music sets a good mood in all the rooms. The controls are highly responsive and make the games truly enjoyable.
