TeamRocketReviews - 2011-12-07 Not bad, but the Atari version was better.
firestarter72 - 2011-11-28 Couldn't agree more with the reviewer. One of the first games I ever owned and while the music could be quite atmospheric, the collision detection was savagely bad! And what the hell were those rocket fin fire breathing things doing 150 feet down in an egyption catacomb? It's certainly a strange one.
hbhzth - 2011-08-02 King of horror games - Paul Norman. I just love his games. Gives me that good old horror films from the 80's feel. The videogame versions of Lucio Fulci's movies. Music plays an important part and Paul did everything himself.
Emperor Roscoe - 2010-05-05 Just horrible. The music is lovely though. Pity it's not up to the standard of Paul's other work.
dksmfb86 - 2007-10-29 Not good...
The Lord of the Flies - 2007-03-13 This game had such bad graphics, monsters (and yourself!) moving through the rock like it wasn't there,... Yet what could have been so terrible of a game, it was contrarily so captivating. Maybe it was the music, maybe the atmospheric-ness of the game,... Yes, that's what it was. Once I figured out the control-scheme, I played this until I won it! Another extremely strange but good Cosmi/Paul Norman game! And yes, I DO think that they probably must have been smoking some good s*** when they made this!
RobinElvin - 2006-02-13 I actually liked this game. I think half the challenge was working round the bugs. However I do remember it actually saying in the manual that if you got stuck and couldn't move your character to hit Run/Stop+Restore and then type an sys call to restart the game!!!
d0c - 2005-10-01 This one I didn't like at all, I just hated the poor controls. There where other better games released by cosmi...
Firefox - 2005-07-28 I remember that I could fly with that guy and walk through stone. An insane game. Kept me playing for a while, but never for too long. 5/10.
Paxelius - 2004-10-06 This game blows my mind. They went all in on this one - brilliant!
C65 - 2004-08-24 Agreed - a very creepy game - when you die, don't you turn into a skeleton or something? The controls were bad and it was quite hard. Cosmi guys were def. Smoking some good stuff for this
JD - 2004-08-19 Crummy control but overall a cool game. It felt to me a little like Dragon's Lair in a way. One thing thats gross is the little dragon thingys that shoot this diarrhea-brown liquid at you, also it can be hard to dodge the random bird droppings that kill you instantly. The ending sequence is a cinch once you know how, but what is up with those graphics? Atari Pac-Man didn't blink this bad. It's like playing a Direct3D game on a really horrible video card.
Yoofaloof - 2004-07-19 This was one of the games I kept coming back to. Great music and atmospheric sound effects. Boy was it hard though. I would usually find myself slipping along, as the character didn't seem to walk. When he did get into a trot though, I remember he would start marching! Loved it when the screen was full of sprites, and you would judder along, in fact everything would judder along, even the music!
Buffster - 2003-08-29 I got as far as the flying sphinxes once, but then my uncoordinated cow of an older sister grabbed the joystick and got us eaten. Great game though. Creepy too.
Amatreus - 2003-08-24 Even though until today I don't know exactly what this game is about I still get addicted every now and then. Cosmi games were way out there anyway!
Billy Bob - 2003-07-21 A very sick, sick, SICK game !!! ...
Mika - 2003-07-07 How game can be this scary.. Even nothing really scary happends Cosmi games have really great atmosphere I wonder whats story and whats Khafka ??
Owen Godwin - 2003-07-06 This game is awesome, thanks to the fact I can beat it over and over again without getting killed once. Shitty gameplay? No... More like shitty players! This is thoroughly playable but creepy as the other reviews suggest. The maneating Sphinx at the end rocks... It scares me in a bad way.
| ~Gooey|Ganja - 2003-06-06 I love Cosmi, I love Forbidden Forest |
TWR - 2003-03-14 Another game we all can do without. Nothing is good about it... Graphics...Sound...Gameplay... It all sucks BIG time !!!
Jake - 2002-05-23 Caverns of Kafka, cool game title. Nice spooky music for this game. Below average control. It's easy to just fall and die from certain places outta nowhere. Although the game only has two levels, it's pretty fun, (when you know what you are doing!) I said this was a bad game in another comment, but I changed my mind a bit. I now give it a 5/10 By the way... There is a way to solve this game! Thanks to Luc Teveris giving me the info! Okay here's how you do it, 1) collect a crystal 2) place it in the cross you should find at the bottom of the cavern (between 2 statues); to release the crystal, you have to press FIRE+a direction (which one, I never understood it too well myself) 3) repeat 1) to 2) until you hacve filled the cross (that is, 5 times) 4) in the next stage, avoid the flying pharaohs and touch Khafka, to win lots of money and get richer than Indy ;-)
Luc Teveris - 2002-03-18 Creepy music and atmosphere, but rather repetitive... The crystals, rather than at random places, seem to appear according to a clock. So just stick to the easy spots and you should find less trouble gathering them and therefore completing the game. Nice ending sequence. 6/10
Jake - 2002-01-06 A really bad game with poor control. Tell me if there's a way to win it. Only good thing is the music. It's cool.
Dan Benge - 2002-01-02 Cosmi and their creepy games. This one was no exception with it's very subtle and creepy music and just plain weird game play. It gave my friend's little brother nightmares.."I dreamt I was being eaten by Khafka!"
