@ johncl: Yeah, I've dug some of my old game cassettes out and I've got one called Pro Golf, from what I remember it's definitely not like this version and the tape says it's from 1988 by Atlantis software - I remember it being a really basic top down game with blocky graphics. Didn't really seem a bad game at the time, I think I had more fun though trying to knock the ball outside of the course..
Was there a European tape release of this game? The game was also released under the name "Pro Golf" on diskette, possibly that was the European release?
I remember liking this game at a stage that I didn't even LIKE golf! While slow and visually unappealing, it was apparently doing something to me that would take 13 years to come to light - I love golf!
