Basic and boring, kept my interest for about 5 minutes.
Forget about the game, the cover image alone was worth the money!
The concept of the game in one sentence: "Race on a straight road and overtake 70 cars within 80 seconds without crashing into other cars more than three times". If you think that sounds exciting, than Death Race 64 is the game for you, because the execution of the idea is done pretty good. The graphics are simple yet functional, sound is okay and it plays rather good too. It's only that the game starts to get repetative really quickly and advancing levels only getting more congestion isn't my idea of variating gameplay. What I did like was the changing landscapes during levels.

This game is the C64 rendition of the arcade TURBO by Sega.
Seen under this perspective, this game is great. I love it. 8/10.
Netter than PP? Lol...there are no bends in the road! Awful, awful game, that somehow managed to keep me going for weeks back when I had a 64

Well, it's better than many other crappy race-games for the 64 but that doesn't make up to the fact that this is a shit game.
Far, far better than 'Pole Position'... But rather unknown :-(
