As a two player game this was brilliant. My best mate at the time and I were fairly evenly matched and spent hours of our lives playing this. Top quality.

I always thought this game didn't get the recognition it deserved. The gameplay was just so much fun... Definitely one of the cult classics of the C64.
the LOST ninja - 2006-08-20
This was just so COOL.

THE BEST sport and 1 vs 1 on C64 (why don't they use it on PS2 and even upgrade it)
first I discovered it with "ytrack" and we still get no instructions, so we play with that games learning the control by little step .
he was scoring all time (15/0) ,(12/0)...and I was only able to beat their guys
but finally I was so strong in fighting that I score too and there were nobody to stop me to victory
we were using a game without final scene but only music of the winning team and 1 wonderfull day "dan" as "the star" get a new copy, and what a feeling when the winning team did the salute that we expected to the public
other great struggles with "dan" when fighting and tactics to wait for the ball and eradicate the player of the other team
violence and tactic rules
love it forever, my favorite
ps:please "John Sinclair" make another rocket ball with such a great gameplay, the graphics were good for that time but the important is GAMEPLAY

Loved (and still love) James Caan's Rollerball.
This game was great fun. A real Rollerball feel, without motor cycles.
TheOmen - 2006-01-12
One of the first games I had, and lots of fun too; only Speedball II managed to knock this off the shelf. Great game.

It was frustrating for me... Because I never had a good opponent. Somebody stop me!!!
I hate to be the Rocketball king... And nobody seems to know my reputation. Sometimes I just like to throw the ball in your face for fun...s o beware.
Oh... And bring your own joystick. I don't want frustrating people wrecking mine
dandy2000 - 2005-05-06
Butt-ugly graphics but man the gameplay rocks. I feel like James Caan in Rollerball. Awesome game -- a real C64 underdog.

Played this last night - what a breath of (albeit 20 year old) fresh air! Far better than the last 2 or 3 PS2 Sports Titles I have purchased.
No frills - 100% gameplay.
Yago - 2004-04-06
This was my favourite Sportsgame for 2 Players.
Noone can beat me, not even the computer at highest Difficulty!
This Game is fun and brutal!
Stony - 2004-02-10
Had this 1 on tape. It"s great fun to play with a friend. Unfortunately the control is sometimes messy. Instead of throwing the ball in, I dropped it and fell over it :-P

Great 2 player fun... Lots of anticipation in the build up to talking a shot. Still great fun for 15 mins.

My favourite C64 game - an absolute classic. Graphics, music, originality are superb but the playability has NEVER been bettered. Top of the line sports sim.
TWR - 2003-04-09
Old classic game in Cupfinal style. Graphics... Well, Cupfinal-ish. COOOOOL music (rocky !!!) Quite fun game-play !!!
joe+ - 2003-03-20
Oh man. a great creative concept and design, superb action and play control, plenty of challenge, and more ways to Knock A Guy Down than even most *fighting* titles. plus, that cool Bach fugue -- strangely appropriate. Beamerik isn't exaggerating. A must-have.
Jenner - 2003-01-17
As I remember I kicked my mates ass every weekend at this (shaun Saunders).
Lonestarr - 2002-09-09
I agree : the best sport game ever ! And one of the best game of the C64. Where is the author, John Sinclair, now ?!
Beamerik - 2002-05-24
The best sports game ever.
On every platform. You can play it with 2 players as well, which is the biggest fun.
The Poison Dwarf - 2002-04-29
One of the best games on the 64 when I was 8
Burzum - 2002-03-20
Hehe.. The film sucks big time! :-)
IPAndrews - 2002-02-14
Can't wait for the official movie tie in game for the new 2002 Rollerball film? Look no further.
