I'm going to add my contribution this weekend, but I only go for the 5 points. Far too little time to practise, unfortunatly.

I rarely played this game before. But I did have it back then, but I didn't liked it at all.
But it looks like a nice game nowadays. I'll give it a try when I do have some spare time, but I'm afraid the compo will be over by then.

You're kidding, right? Shocked I just checked out ship eight - there's some decks where you don't even survive long enough to enter transfer mode...

OK, my final score for this compo is 2345 (atleast I think it was that, I didn't have time to get a screenshot coz the damn game never thinks any of my scores are high enough to get to enter my name).

While the general game idea and so is good, it's absolutely unplayable. I never manage to enter transfer mode when I want to, and when I want to shoot, it doens't do that etc. Also the free-direction scroll doesn't seem to run full speed.

(Yeah, I know, looks like I'm just finding up reasons why I suck at this game! Very Happy)

Did I hear "observation" or "robo-stores"? Get in with 711/742, flash, get out and visit another level (otherwise lasers are still coming in) and retry, re-enegizing when necessary. If there are two 821s in observation you're out of luck.
Other levels have more space to dodge incoming fire, but only way to survive is to use 711/742 clean decks as much as possible and to transfer into rest, trying to get 821 with which to transfer into next 711/742.

Game puts you into ship eight again, but I remember it was even harder that time. I suspect there are only eight shipnames, but game does droid level incrementing even after that.

Here's mine contribution. A managed to take over a security droid and really kicked some robot-butt, but then I ran into a 999! Took just one shot to kill my security droid and 001-droid.

Score 8790.

'Bout time I posted a score for this. I've been so busy working on my website that I haven't had much time to play (and then I just got Star Wars: Galaxies this week....), however, this score is close to my best.

Hey, I thought this compo ended last weekend.
Maybe I can try to beef up my score a little then.

I haven't had time to re-read the thread, but I recall that Matt was away, who is taking the screenshots? I posted my score a bit back, but didn't sent in the pic. You can take me at my word (it wasn't a killer score anyway) or let me know who to send it to...however I might not make it back here until after the deadline.

A malaise is starting to come upon me over this game again, so I doubt I'll best my current top score.

Clearing each ship is much more of a tactical challange than it is a dextrous one; but sadly the tactical challenge doesn't really change enough for me. One of the aspects of the game which causes this problem would have been the easiest to fix; the fact that the starting positions of the droids on each level are fixed.

LOL!! Tell me about it - I managed to reach ship #6 a few times.. it's insane!! On some decks (for instance the shuttle bay) you get blasted as soon as you appear from the lift! Shocked And also curious is the development in some droid's rapid-fire technology... Rolling Eyes

I dread to think what ship eight is like, but I don't think I'll get that far!

f***ing bugridden game!!! Mad Evil or Very Mad Pissed

I was doing really well, was on the 3rd ship in the cargo bay, there were a 742 and a 629 really close to each other. I tried to transfer to the 742 but I mistakenly touched the 629 a split secon after a disruptor bolt from the 742 had destroyed it: I entered transfer mode and instead of a droid image it showed me the icon of three vertical double lasers, and it said I was transferring to a 402 (nonexistant!!!) maintenance droid! I succeeded and I was a 402, but it could move only down and right, not up and left, it didn't lose energy at all and I was trapped in the dock I just emptied (the 742 had misteriously disappeared!). So after trying anything that came to my mind I had to give up! Pissed Pissed Pissed Take a look at the picture below.

Anyway, new score: 54,535

This may well be my final stab, as I'm SICK of all the game's unfair bugs:

55,780 (ship 3)

Oh hey I wanted to comment about those who say they found bugs in the game like getting stuck for example.. One time in VICE I got stuck in a corner and I clearly could move up or down, but I could not get out. I even waited *FOREVER* to get hit by something and set back to 001 because I was doing well. But on the real 64, I've NEVER had trouble like this.

Final entry. I finally made it to the second ship. Those cargodecks are a real pain. Took me forever clear them.

Sorry, I had a free week. Things can happen Wink

I changed my strategy. Since I get killed on the cargodeck every time, I decided to grab a strong droid and go there first. After clearing those decks, the rest of the ship is easy. Then I went through the easy decks (otherwise I commit suicide) on the second ship and was then killed again on the cargodeck.
