Hi Mar and Funk Scientist,

does that bug with the missing extra time in round 1 happen on every course or just on one specific?

What do I have to do to get the extra time? Collecting the flags continuoulsy in the correct order?

Regards,

HOK/Remember

The missing time bonus is the second one on the first lap. Every other lap it's fine. To get bonus time you just drive through the banner. The time then gets added to your overall time when you finish a lap.

I've only ever noticed it on the OFFROAD course. I don't remember noticing it in any other course.

You just collect em. The time bonus is added when you pass the checkpoint at the end of the lap, the time added depending on whether you collected 1, 2, or 3 time flags.

It's a bug I always remember from when I played it years ago. A bug probably in the original - but that's not to say it can't be fixed! Very Happy

Cheers HOK.

Thanks for both your answers!

We'll see what we can do about it... Running out of memory though...

He.. I just gave it a try and after about 10 tries I still could only muster up a measly 38.600 points. Damn, my Buggy Boy skills must have deterioated seriously in the last decade or so.. Wink
Maybe I should load it up on the real thing and try it. Yeah, that must be it, can't play buggy boy with a microsoft gamepad, gotta have a real old fashioned joystick! Very Happy

Same here... I got about 70 000 points in my fourth attempt and I can't see myself improve much... I blame it on the Joystick me too Laughing

Bollox! 500 points shy of 100k. I cannot rest.... Laughing BTW: I've changed to the LURID+TRICYCLE version, for the highscore bugfix. Also has a highscore saver.

Sing all together with me:
"Tiger run around the tree, follow the leader"

116,640 West track.

Beat this folks! Cool Laughing

I too have changed to the Lurid/Tricycle version (but my heart aches for not being faithful to my heroes Remember Smile ). I hope I won't get disqualified because of this...

Edit: Funscientist, as usual you have messed things up Wink Laughing
You forgot my previous score of 102,110.

Welcome to SDW and to Toggle (another fan of Katakis, Creatures 2, Archon and Wonderboy in ML)!

I guess it's easier to score highly on other courses than Offroad (I did my record on West).

For what it's worth, I was on the Offroad course.

(I guess I'll have to try West now... Sigh, I knew every inch of Offroad, and I'm totally inexperienced on West.)

... and now the moment you've all been waiting for (especially FunkScientist). As you can see I have broken the 100,000 barrier.

Nice score Boçù!! You've certainly pushed this competition to a new level. I guess I better get back to the drawing board Wink.

Aaaargh!! How are people managing to get more than 95 000 points on the Offroad course!?!? I did a perfect run I thought and still only got 91 000 points. I must be missing something Smile
Will post the screenshot later.

Jeez! Finally broke the 100000 pts mark! Laughing

(101240 - FSP - OFFROAD)

Still haven't beaten you, though, Thunderer! Laughing

@TommyE: Try to get as many of the coloured flag bonuses as possible, and try to collect as many time flags as possible, cos your remaining time gets added at the end - not mega points, but some! You really have to take risks and collect flags near to obstacles as well, even if you don't need the colour, the 30 pts is always useful! Thats how I've finally broken the 100k barrier. Wink

I hope you find it comforting that I am not resting on my laurels and relaxing. You are too close to my heels for comfort. I have my helmet on, joystick (keypad) in my hand, and I am putting the pedal to the metal. Wink Just call me Kimi Raikkonen.

@Matt

Is it OK to play the Lurid/Tricycle version then?

Did you receive my screen shot?

And I'm glad to announce everybody that the scores for the first two challenges are now on the almighty Scorelord page, as well as a mention of Matt's Lemon c64 Arena Cool
http://www.the-burrow.freeserv...elord.html

EDIT Ooops, I didn't notice you already mentioned that in the first post

And I must finally state: only true champions play with the keyboard Cool
(or those who don't own a joypad/joystick/whatever Laughing )

All in good fun, of course, Thunderer, but it appears I've overtaken you on turn 5. Laughing Time for me to pit for (psychological) repairs... Razz
