I didn't have much time to play this game (and added to that I was forced to play it thru VICE Sad ) so here's my final contribution for the high score:

Bah, a terrible tale of woe scuppers my chances to improve my score. I was going to have a concentrated Buggy Boy weekend, but we had an incredible, and somewhat bizarre ice storm here, which has made all the trees look like they are made of glass (very nice). The unfortunate thing is that it also cause tree branches to break everywhere, bringing down power lines and meaning over 300,000 people are without power (including me). The power went back on about an hour ago, so I wouldn't have much time to play, but I can't anyway, because last night was so cold that I had my two year old son sleep in the bed with me, seeing as he kicks his blankets off and my bed is warmer, and he woke up in the middle of the night, didn't know where he was, reached over at me because he didn't know who I was and poked me in the eye!! So, as a result, I can't really look at my monitor very much.

As a result, my final hi-score is 113,110. Copy and paste the link into your browser to view the picture.

http://www33.brinkster.com/pau...iscore.jpg

I actually completed the West course, without crashing, and with 15 seconds left, and got a score of 111,000-odd. That being the case, I have given up anyway, because there is absolutely no way I can find a way to make up another 27,000 points on that course. Congrats to you mega-players!

Wow, well played everybody. Haven't had access to the internet and a computer for the week-end so I kind of expected someone to push me off top place.

@Toggle, I really did think that you were going to evertake me in the end. Excellent effort on your behalf.

@FunkScientist - Getting first place did not give as much pleasure as beating you my nemisis. Meet you in the next round.

Nice driving everybody.

I don't have a screenshot ready. I play the games on a original c64 so I can't take screenshots and my girfriend who was away took the digital camera so I don't have any proof. But my highest score was around 92.000 points.

There, I guess it's visible again (on the other page).
If not, here it is again.

Score: 75990. Offroad.

Matt, mail me if it is malfunctioning again, if it is I'll send it to you via email.

[edit] sorry for all those edits, I'm trying to get this thing to work.

Argh, I'm going nuts here...

Laughing I just removed the other links, this topic kinda exploded when it worked.

Hey Vegeta, actually you are the only one that can see it because your computer takes the image from your cache. I am afraid the rest of us, unfortunately, cannot see your image. Geocities does not allow remote linking of pics.

There are a couple of solutions to this. Post the link to the picture and tell us to copy paste it.

Or do what I and Genrex, who both use Geocities, have been doing. Add a *txt designation to your link. Therefore by renaming your pic buggyboy.bmp to buggyboy.bmp.txt you shall get the full link of http://www.geocities.com/fesha...oy.bmp.txt . This way you will trick the site's filters into thinking that you are directly linking to a text file and not a graphic one.

I hope I am making sense.

@ frenkie b & vegeta.
you don't need to send those screenshots Wink

anyway, that makes that frenkie b got a total of 5 points now (welcome to the competition!) and vegeta already scored 5 points so that makes a total score of 10 points so far.

thanks for contributing guys!
cheers

So what you mean is replacing
[img]http://www.geocities.com/feshar2001/buggyboy.bmp[\img]
to
[img]http://www.geocities.com/feshar2001/buggyboy.bmp.txt[\img]

I replaced the [/img] by [\img] to make it easier, otherwise you get those weird links.

I quoted Genrex to see how it works, but I don't get an image if I do it.
Since I'm the only one who can see this, does a direct link work?

It used to work fine with IK+ (or maybe not, I don't have a picture there either anymore.)

In your file manager choose/tick on the box for your buggyboy image file, which I presume is called "buggyboy.bmp". Then click on the "Rename" button, then change the name of buggyboy.bmp ------> buggyboy.bmp.txt

Then when linking to it you would write [img]http://www.geocities.com/feshar2001/buggyboy.bmp.txt[\img]

So, it's finally over... Tenth isn't bad. I was hoping for the top five, but I had to give up on that. Lots of people were beating my score in the last few days, and I was still playing, but I was quite sick of the game by then. (I must say that I now like it less than I did a month ago.)
Did anyone beat 107,750 on Offroad? I'm wondering if I was close to the maximum on that course.
