Endurion mentioned he wanted todo a metroid style game so i worked out a nice little story and created a huuuuge map ( over 200 screens ).
There are 11 tilesets set across a few loads, lots of upgrading and collecting metroid style.
So while endurion is busy coding catnipped ive built and finished the map and am currently working on the shitload of sprites.
This is defo gunna take a while mind.

Anyhoo here's a few of the rooms and sprites.

I always dreamed for something like Deadlock and this game looks very promising! Go for it, it will be another epic release for sure. Wink

Cheers,

Thanks Smile

But I fear I'll never reach that level of sophistication. Scrolling does my head in.

That looks REALLY promising. I'm hoping for some ginormous bosses to battle. I guess you are going to make this single load again?

Looks awesome, you guys truly rocks. Please don't worry about fitting in 64kb or whatever. Make it epic, make it multi load and multi disk. Why not.

That's actually what I was thinking. An epic multi load game with lots of completely different looking scenery, huge bosses and a different music for every part of the game. Plus nice intro/ending animations maybe even with sampled speech. But a non linear game like this would make a tape version impossible and I guess there are still a lot of peaople who prefer tapes over disks.

Go for it Smile. It's just Soulless' engine as I see, so that could be next masterpiece Smile. Keep it rollin' pal!

Defo wont be a tape loader because of the multiload to'ing and fro'ing
It will also have scrolling ( poor endurion hahaha )
So far its 11 tilesets and i reckon a good 6 or 7 sets of sprites ( poor me )

It's big but defo doable - i hope Very Happy

Wow! This looks incredible! I'm a huge fan of the old Metroid games so the chance to play a homage to one on the C64 would be great.

I WANT THIS. Completely blows my version away. Could this be an epic cart version with extras like maps, etc?

Or is the cart limited to 64k?
