I'm working on a very large project. I'll be reviewing the weirdest video games I can find.

My criteria:
- Regardless of how good or bad the game is, it has to be weird in some way.
- The game has to have been commercially released in some sense. I know a lot of C64 games were bootlegged or sold under the table but as long as it existed, was getting around somehow, and was making money (or else was freeware but very widely circulated) it counts.

I'm giving an honourable mention to games that are based on a weird idea but aren't weird in the playthrough (ideas like a breakdancing game, or where you have to cool a reactor) and also to games that are purposely weird for the purpose of comedy (like Caveman Ugh-lympics)

Any games you can help me add to my list would be very appreciated.

Edit: Here are some of my videos I've done so far:

Di's Baby
Bazooka Bill
Space Taxi

weird is such s a subjective term

i like rock n bolt and to me it is weird how its a guy who spins around inserting black bolts into moving island like girders

how abotu donkey kong a guy who is trying to rescue his girlfriend from a barrel hurling gorilla

or grave yardage a football game with ogres

in fact i think its harder to find a non weird game

To me, LCP, Deus Ex Machina and Alter Ego were pretty weird for their times.

Yes, to a degree. But there are some games out there that are so utterly bizarre it's ridiculous.

Examples:
- Monster Party is a platform game where you play as a kid with a baseball bat who fights such monsters as walking pants, dancing zombies, and giant cooked shrimp.
- Logic Pro is a puzzle game similar to minesweeper where the mission is to grant a talking ape his greatest wish and turn him into a beautiful woman.
- Trio the Punch is a beat 'em up game where, among other enemies, you fight a sheep that stands on its hind legs and launches tiny sheep at you. After you defeat him, you become the sheep for the next level. Later on, you fight zombies in go-karts and then fight Colonel Sanders as a boss.

I have countless examples of these. My list of weird C64 games is rather sparse, though. So far, big ones on the list are Hover Bovver (a lawn-mowing game) and Creatures 1 & 2 (where cute little animals are brutally murdered with more gore than a Mortal Kombat game)

-BrainStorm http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=359
-Portal http://www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=3773

I haven't been able to find any info on LCP anywhere. Is it an acronym?

LCP=Little Computer People

Add Hacker and Hacker 2 to that list too.

LCP = Little Computer People I don't remember really trying it, but it basically was like a non-online progenitor of The Sims if I remember correctly. You control a "little computer person" and make it do this and that.

Toy Bizarre was pretty popular between my brother and father. I still have the disk with the their running tally of high scores on the jacket...I showed them that a couple days ago for a laugh.

You could also throw in Mondu's Fight Palace as a weird one...certainly weird opponents anyway. Smile

What about Alter Ego (male version and female version? I always thought those were pretty weird.

Heisanevilgenius, your suggested games don't strike me as being very weird at all! Have you played Batalyx, Gates Of Dawn, or for downright spooky oddness Mad Doctor?

Sure I'll remember some more, but off the top of my head... Arctic Shipwreck!

You play a mammoth running around a 3d iceberg trying to prevent stranded sailors falling off until a rescue ship arrives. Oh, and fending off the occasional vulture to boot.

How bizarre can it get?

Portal was hardly weird. Unique yes, but little more than an interactive story.

dude you win that is the weirdest

its kind of neat with the balance on the iceberg thing i assume they are african pygmies since they can be hauled off by a seagull and since they seem frozen and unable to help themselves

i just wish it was ntsc fixed

Hmmm........C64 games? Maybe also:

Street Hassle (where you can bash the daylights out of grannies, old blind men......)

Ole! (Was there ever another bull-fighting game released?)

Master of the Lamps (Not a lot of flying carpet simulators out there)

Spy vs Spy 1, 2 and 3. Weird (in their originality of laying humorous booby traps. Very fun and well-realised games nonetheless, capturing the spirit of the comics)

I dunno, all I know is that this game was also released under the name of Raging Beast.Anyway I kinda like it,nothing outstanding but it has lots of nice and humorous touches.

Anyway my choice is Iridis Alpha,a shoot em up which isn't intuitive: it doesn't get weirder than this.

Uuno Turhapuro Muuttaa Maalle

Check out this link. The game is based on jobless drunk's journey to country side... Based on the movie with the same name.

The list of games that fit into this category is endless. It's an untapped resource really because generally speaking, people just stick to NES games when looking for comedy content. Some examples of what I mean that I did myself once upon a time:

http://www.neonpixelnightmare..../index.htm

http://www.neonpixelnightmare..../index.htm

http://www.neonpixelnightmare..../index.htm

http://www.neonpixelnightmare..../index.htm

http://www.neonpixelnightmare..../index.htm

One of my plans for this year is to do a series of YouTube videos where I force myself to play rediculously hard or rediculously crap games. Like I said, it's an untapped market, and generally speaking gamers are "afraid" of the C64. They'll soon accept some obscure game for SNES or whatever like Captain Novolin, but the C64? Too scary.

Just because everything else I'd suggest off the top of my head has been suggested already, I'll suggest Freak Factory. Those faces were creepy, even if it was a horrible game.

What platforms these are made for, they are certainly not C64 games.
