I am not personally selling my copy - but I remember seeing someone that was looking for a copy and I found this on ebay tonight while prowling about:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Commodore-...5639ef64a7
Cheap for someone in the US - around 12.00 shipped (15.50 shipped to Canada - thats pretty good too!). So if anyone needs this software - that's a pretty good deal.
I think I paid 30.00 for mine shipped. So good luck to whoever wants it.
(This is not my auction...) |

For anyone planning to purchase it: please take a look at Ebay Fraud Help! before making your decision.

I'm not saying this one is not original, but the description says "Note: I do not know if these are originals or copies. They are sold as is."
While copied games have some value (in case you have no means to transfer D64s to disk) copied alignment disk is pretty much worthless. |

Ahhh crud - sorry folks - I had no idea. BUT I DO NOW! Thanks for the tip and sorry for trying to make a referral.
I'll be sure to check that list in the future before posting any "deals" I find on ebay in here.
Thanks,

not even that. alignment disks contain analog signals and/or spiral/eliptic tracks. you cant copy them with a normal drive at all. _________________

I have to laugh at Disk Alignment Programs. If your disk is that much out of alignment, how will the program load? I had to load with one and use it on the mis-aligned one.
In retrospect, load the disk one while the disk drive works, save it to cassette, then you will be able to load it with no disk drive. |

In retrospect, load the disk one while the disk drive works, save it to cassette, then you will be able to load it with no disk drive. | I'm not even sure if that is possible?!? Most Alignment programs are a multi-file load routine...I know my Vorpal Utility kit by Epyx is menu driven, and loads files as you need them
Most users in NTSC land (where we tossed cassettes quickly after the PET days, or soon after getting our first beloved disk drive) have multiple disk drives because copying with only one disk drive was just plain nuts... If you are still using one drive only... then alignments should be checked yearly or at the first hint of trouble when the drive has gone from a "good" range down to "acceptable" (now out + or - 25-50 microns) By the time is is out by 50 microns or more, it has become nearly unusable as it is now reading between each track. |

An alignment disk has elliptical tracks that will only read fully if a drive is in perfect alignment. By testing which sectors fail to read, the alignment is detected.
It is completely impossible to copy an alignment disk and have it work, the stepper motor doesn't have the precision needed to pull it off.
Buy them only new in box! |
