i recently got my old c64 back and then wired it up but to find out that it dosent work it just comes up with a blue screen with border no writing and when i put a cartridge it loads it but then no cursor comes up and i cant write anything.i would really like to get my commodore working again to show my kids what it was like and to play on my old games |

Ray Carlson can do repairs for you. You could contact him. Or, if you feel good about your soldering skills, you could. However, you will have to get a replacement chip from somewhere. |

U1 = 906108-02 (6526) CIA
just look for CIA 6526 (if you have the old board) |

Try swapping it with the other one and see if it helps, if you're lucky they're in sockets. |

Sell this one and get another one or maybe get another - swap motherboards and then sell the non working one
Ask someone to fix it for you. |
