Now here's a really old Commodore 64 game that gets the Hackersoft crazy hack treatment... Brian Bloodaxe by The Edge. It's a game that I played back in the day but I struggled to get anywhere due to the difficulty of the controls and collision. I've now made it much easier to play through and complete, with the following additional features:

1 = One screen back
2 = One screen forward
3 = Infinite Lives ON
4 = Infinite Lives OFF
5 = Infinite Energy ON
6 = Infinite Energy OFF
7 = Invincibility ON
8 = Invincibility OFF
9 = Teleport to Left*
0 = Teleport to Right*
+ = Teleport to Top*
- = Teleport to Bottom*
R = Border Colour
T = Music OFF
Y = Music ON
U = Instructions from God!**
I = Freeze the Nasties
O = Unfreeze the Nasties
P = Back Home

Notes
-----
* Due to the way the characters update, you'll see a ghosted image of where you teleported from, until you go into the next room. Spooky!

** This is the first part of the game complete!

Please note that some of the additional features are pushing the game to its limits and may crash - it's not a particularly well programmed game anyway :/

Now available from: www.hackersoft.co.uk via the Crazy Hacks page.

Hmm, I remember following a solution a year or so ago for the Spectrum and finding on the third part, the holy grail wasn't where it was supposed to be! Good to hear it can be completed, haha.

I had no idea what to do with this game as a kid. I think i had it on a comp with Quo Vadis and Revelation. The last being the only one I really spent much time with.

I think there is a music on/off key already but I'm not sure what it is...there's a few tricks and glitches in this game (hard to tell which are which) - like jumping at some enemies to kill them, or corrupting the tilesets with objects which sometimes can create new paths...but I must admit, I got it in Now Games when I was a kid and I had no idea what I was doing either. Only last year did I figure out you can USE the items, not just pick up/put down, and that each screen was meant to represent a place in the UK! (I still don't get what most of them are, though!)

I don't think there is you know. I did try and find it because the music was annoying, which is why I then added in the feature Smile

The first 15 second of liberty bell march repeated. Poor abused Python. I love them, and they are very quotable, but I can't stand people who quote them (most often the black knight or parrot). This music sort of reminds me of that.

Not that surprised considering that the music player and data is around 900 bytes, which is a pretty small routine all round, so it was never going to be a classic methinks.

Nice work on the release though Vinny, I'm sure people will welcome toggling that cacophany off!
