Were there monitors made other than Commodore brand that had the split chroma/luma inputs like the Commodore monitors have?
In the 80s, I used a Magnavox monitor with my C64, but it just had a composite video input with a 5-pin connector for the C64. _________________ |

From memory, lots of them. Security monitors for example commonly use the system. |

If anyone can recall any specific brands and models they've used with Commodore computers that have split chroma/luma inputs, that would be helpful.
I haven't been having much luck finding a Commodore brand monitor for my C64 setup here on the ship I'm on, so I'm trying to broaden my search... just don't know where to look. _________________ |

I saw a site recently that had old refurbed monitors, (and there were a number of other brands) I am sorry I cannot seem to find it atm, but be aware that CGA monitors will work with a 128 they also used RGBi input. they are also nearly as rare as rooster teeth but that may widen your available pool. (I believe most CGA used a DB-9 connector so you might need to modify a bit.)

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the separate Chroma/Luma output is basically the same thing as S-Video, just using two connectors instead of one.
Wouldn't it be possible to make a cable that plugged into the C64's monitor port and the other end into an S-Video monitor? |

S-Video is fine for Chroma + Luma (same thing)
Many late CRT TVs were essentially better as monitors than most of the old 80s/90s dedicated monitors when you're talking composite or S-Video input.
TVs with RGB over SCART can also work with computers that use 16 KHz RGB like Amiga & ST. |

It would be easier to made a cable that made possible to convert a monitor cable into a S-Video one.
Cheers,
