First off, just to clarify, the Flyer case enclosures are not an "official" Retroswitch product, so this thread isn't the place for support questions on the case... but as good measure, I'll reply to your comment.
Basically the cases are on the "slow boat" from China to the USA. To get expedited shipping was super expensive (we are barely breaking even at this point), so it's taking a little longer then we hoped to arrive. I do apologize for the delay.
For future questions about the case, please use the contact form on the Commodore Computer Club website:

Thanks for your message. |

Only been using the Flyer IRC client for a few hours but man it stable, quite fast and easy to configure.
Worked first up no problem's at all! as good software should, i think you have just the right amount of features and the layout is functional.
Tested with the Commodore 128, Commodore 64 "old" and SX64. Will be on irc.c64irc.com for a few days as zapc128 for the Commodore 128 in 64 mode.
Thanks again. _________________ Looking for a causal coder, Python/MYSQL/PHP/Java. PM Me |

Hi guys, I just searched Lemon for the exact same reason but could only find this one thread on the Flyer.
Just wondered if there is an ETA for when cases will start shipping.
I haven't tried my Flyer yet because I want it in it's nice safe case before I start using it.
I've actually ordered two cases and the second they arrive I'll be ordering a second Flyer PCB.
Love this project and the availability of cases made all the difference to me. It's great to have a modern day product that so looks the part!
Thanks!

Both the Telnet and IRC clients have been posted on the Flyer product page for download. These are 100% custom written for the Flyer in C/asm and are currently available for the Commodore 64 (and Commodore 128 in C64 mode).

Flyer IRC for PET/CBM A new port of the Flyer IRC client for the PET/CBM is now available for download on the Flyer product page. It currently supports 80 column, 32K (or greater) models only. http://www.commodoreflyer.com/...r-pet-cbm/
Incredible and me with a Pet on the way. _________________ Looking for a causal coder, Python/MYSQL/PHP/Java. PM Me |

REL files are one of many VIC-1541 file formats: REL relative files (only usable with computer applications; max. filesize 167.132 Bytes with max. 65.535 data sets).
You can read more about them here: http://www.c64-wiki.com/index.php/VIC-1541 |

The light pipes, which bring the light from the Flyer PCB up to the top of the case needed to be redone. The manufacturer made a small mistake on the length (too long - case couldn't close properly).

The cases did finally show up. They are in 3 pieces (top, bottom and light pipes) which is how they were designed and ordered, however these small run projects can be tricky. We've been taking the time to get it right instead of just throwing out something that's not quite there.
I do apologize for the delay, but it should be sorted soon so delivery can take place. Thank you for everyone's patience and understanding. |

Wow so fast.
Wonder how the cases are going?
Anyone heard anything new?
Once our cases arrive we're purchasing a second Flyer for our computer groups displays etc.

Flyer Firmware/Software Updates 1.1.9
1.1.9 is an interim release containing some soon-to-be-announced features which are still in development. It does, however, contain a few IEEE-488 protocol fixes (including full support for CATALOG) that I wanted to make available ASAP for the growing number of PET/Flyer users.
Finally i have a working Pet and look forward to these updates.

I read the entire thread and i think that flyer is a most interesting device.
Is planned to release the source of linux server cloud?
I ask this to rebuild the software to other hardware platform (i.e. arm cortex family, etc.)

I can't wait to get my case either, The Flyer is a nice piece of hardware thats for sure, still would like to see a model with an SN/MicroSD card in it though.
I've been mostly using mine for IRC/Flyerchat. _________________ |

Just bought myself a mill and i plan on milling a case out of a solid block of Alum for the Flyer.
VK yes it's getting out of hand, keep in mind this is not the thread for the cases, you should create a thread about the cases to better support your cause and make it easier to find by others also waiting for there cases.
