But then you won't find an .exe inside, because you've downloaded the source code.

"Tangible proof that something is changing in the code – the number diskmagu reportedly did not want to work in Vice, now there is no problem with it."
you've got this wrong, the previously uploaded file at csdb *was* bad, I've replaced with a good version which works everywhere so it's not due to code changes in vice.

Probably you downloaded the source code.
The Windows binaries are zip files, which can be found a few lines below the source code link.
All files can be downloaded here.

Yesterday I downloaded VICE 2.3 anyone knows the best settings for the CRT filter?

I'm not a big fan of the 'simulated' scan lines so I set Scan line shade to 1.000and blur to 0.000. You may have your own ideas about how it should look tho...

I have found this Arcade Forge SLG 3000 VGA scanline generator more info here http://wp1114205.wp150.webpack...age_id=745 I think this is ideal for connecting our old C=64 to a an Lcd TV. winvice all ready have a crt filter and i'm sure they're working on it to improve it. is there someone out there that owns one of these scan lines generator and can make a review about connecting a c64 to an lcd TV with a scan lines generator?

This is too funny! Laughing Laughing

When I think all the money and work people invested in the early 90s trying to do exactly the opposite, AKA the Amiga's Flickerfixer.

All these years later we have to have a scanline generator!

Kind of ironic how history seems to wrap on itself!

scanlines != flicker
The main use of a flickerfixer is to make interlace modes (which do flicker quite annoyingly) bearable. The fact that it also gets rid of scanlines in non interlace modes is just a side effect, you may or may not like. If this was the main purpose, the device would have a different name, wouldn't it?

it has - "flickerfixer" is really not an accurate or even technical term. the correct term for such a device is "scan-doubler" (that applies to most/all amiga flickerfixers sold back in the days at least - the indivision is more than a simple scan doubler, as it can actually buffer one frame and output arbitrary framerates)

It seems to me that a scanline generator is more or less an "un-scandoubler".

no, a scanline generator just decreases brightness every other line, it doesnt change the scanrate.

please don't mislead people. This is not an official 2.3 release. It is still on 2.2. Add BETA to your description.

Agreed that the links above are not official releases, but the latest official release ATM is 2.3, not 2.2.

You'd better check the files, and the whole thread while at it, before posting, these are builds from the current sourceforge trunk (the number on the filename represent version 2.3.12), and the poster should be thanked for building and sharing them.

This is sweet, it NOW reads extended track D81 disk images.

Thanks for the Info/Link.

I put this file on my server if anyone would rather grab it from there, same file, different place is all.

Compilations are always created from a file or a development of the last slots in the repository. Their names come from the "about". Only a pro after the explanation, moreover, and so I feel absolved when I look at the information from EmuCR, P;.

The Menu Bar across the top of the window is gone, "File, Edit, Snapshot, Options, Settings, Language, Help"

It's there in v2.3.12 but not .13
