OK thanks, I'll look into it a bit more. I just saw it as a one-off really.
I'm releasing a bug fix for v2.0.0 in the next few days so keep an eye on my website. _________________ |

Hot on the heels of v2.0.0 is a bug fix version (v2.0.1). There are no new features (well, nothing major) but a lot of bugs have been fixed. See the download page of my website for more details. Many thanks to plbyrd for helping me with the installer. If you hate installers, you know who to blame!

2.0.1 is all that is being shown right now. If its not displaying properly, you may need to clear your browsers cache.
I just started using this, and although I am not using a lot of the features, I really like it so far. _________________ Commodore will live forever! |

I wish I had more time for C64 programming so I could use this more. |

Easy, spend a little less time on forums and you'll find more time for coding =) _________________

Hi,
A user of v2.0.1 has had problems with the keyboard shortcuts. All of the editing commands work but the build commands (F5, F6 etc.) don't. Is anyone else having similar problems in v2.0.1?
Cheers. _________________ |

I am not a big user of shortcuts, and have only used F4 for the Screen Code Builder which has worked fine. I am just getting started on my 2nd program since installing 2.0.1 though. I didn't upgrade it until last night when I was done with a project I was working on. _________________ Commodore will live forever! |

Can you make the help window not parented to the main program? When I have it open on a different monitor, and alt tab between something like a webpage then back to the program, the help file gets focus and not the editor. This is super annoying. It's always on top too. |

Still happening after upgrading to 2.0.1
Error when quitting CBM Prg Studio v 2.0.0 on Win 7 x64
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. |

I run it on Win7 x64 too, and don't have that problem. _________________

Is your .NET framework up to date? _________________

Just launch the help from the program files menu or folder. _________________

Yes, the .net framework is up to date and fully patched.
Just downloaded it and installed it onto my main desktop - Win7 x64 - same issue. |

Just wondering:
I have a hex dump listing (akin the the MLX, flankspeed, and Hex Data Entry magazine listings) that I have scanned from a book and wish to compile.
Is there, or could there be a way for me to copy/paste a hex dump into an editor like this and build a binary this way? |

It's hard to say without seeing the file. You could use prg studio to edit it but it really sounds like a job for an editor which uses macros, so you can apply the same formatting to each line with a keystroke.
If the file's large it'll save a lot of time.
Don't forget you can use the incbin command to include the binary, once you've created it. _________________ |

Hex dump listing?
How does that look?
Something like this:
23 FE 3E 21 00 5F ... ? |

Yep, that's the one.
it's the same output you'd get if you opened a C64 monitor and did an "M" command.
First four digits are the memory location, followed by eight hex pairs.
It's just that I have a hex dump here that I'd like to compile into a loadable binary.
I *might* be able to do this in a standard hex editor, although then I have to insert the load location into the first two values when I'm done. I have this freeware one called "HxD" that lets me cut and paste as long as I have all the hex values correct. |

Doesn't seem any compiling is necessary if it's already machine codes, I don't see any other way than inserting it into a hex editor or write a small program that converts the data into a binary file. |

Well even with a standard hex editor, you have to edit it so that it displays the right number of columns, and then you have to add two low-byte hi-byte values at the beginning of the code so that the C64 knows where to load that code into memory. Additionally the offset for a hex editor is at zero, and you get confused at what line you're at.
It would be nice to have all these features handled in an editor, and perhaps you could even have a checksum feature as well (get the studio to auto generate MLX, flankspeed or HexDataEntry checksums for lines of code!)
But if it's too much work..... don't worry |

I was going to post this a couple weeks ago, but I had taken a break from the programming, and I had forgotten what #2 was until I started using it again.
These are just minor irritations to me, but I will mention them anyway:
1) I wish the program could remember it was maximized on the prior use & reopen maximized. Easy enough to maximize it myself, so not a big deal.
2) It would be nice to be able to clear individual items from the Recent Project list without having to clear the entire list. Maybe Right Click, Remove From List option, or highlight + press Delete key on keyboard. _________________ Commodore will live forever! |

Thanks for the suggestions. It's good timing really as I was planning a release this weekend anyway, so I've made the changes.
