Sounds great! Won't be able to make it myself.

There's a number of other Australians on Lemon64 though. A few other C64 buffs from Brisbane too.

Hope the meet kicks off well! Looking forward to the pics and exciting stories you'll have for us!

Smile

I think the last Commodore event in Brisbane was ARCADE 64 in 2004.

Anyway, should be a fun night of C64 stuff.

Feel free to come and show off anything you have created for the C64 or other Commodore 8bit.

Also feel free to bring along your fav game and also bring any cool or rare hardware you may have.

Also, would be great to hear some stories from anyone who was in the scene back in the day.

Everything & anything C64.

Anyone interested please let me know ASAP so I can finalise the booking of the hall.

Hey stingray! im in the redlands. Cool Thornlands to be precise.

I have a pretty decent amount of copied disks (~200 or so) and still have about 23 brand new floppies left (after i backed up most of the working disks) so im lookoing for more games to copy. Very Happy I havent been on this forum regurly for quite a while and was quite suprised at the amount of aussies on here. Cool

I'm sure Stingray will do his best to cater for all needs! Its amazing what you can do with $5!

A few models near the C64, C128, GEOS, "Paradroid" and "Alternate Reality: The Dungeon" stands wouldn't go astray though. Smile

Sounds like it will be a heap of fun. Haven't been to Queensland since I was a kid, I'd love to drive up there and bring some c64 gear. We should put in for a keg as well. Very Happy

I'll bring the C64 hook up the SuperCPU and we can play Metal Dust Smile

I'd like to talk about a Brisbane or OZ C= 8bit club. Something to think about
and discuss on the night, no hierarchy just C= users that know each other
helping out fellow members with spares, software and organizing small get
together s with an annual event.

All of the C= 8bit Community would be welcome.

enjoy
Shane

Sounds good to me and I'm already on the northside, so how could I say no? Sign me up!

EDIT: I should add, I don't have a drivers licence (yet) so I can't bring anything heavy duty unless that changes (which I'd say the odds are at least 50:50). But I have all the usual stuff. A few C64s, disk drives, an MMC64, I think four Comp Pro joysticks and a few old Computec ones, datassettes, software of course...other than that I have a Minimig and just got a Speccy 128k if people want to compare ports or something. I think my Plus/4 and one C16 works, too.

I'm just wondering...who else is going? It's obviously not just those in this thread.

I've managed to get one of my friends interested so far. He's younger than me (22 I think) but this is still his sort of thing. He has a C16 which he got recently and I pointed out that if it worked and he didn't like it, it's be a good place to trade it for something.

I know other oldschool C64 people - not many though - but I'll still give them the info.

Yeah, I got a work function on in Sydney on that weekend.

Haven't got any hardware myself these days. So, travelling light and flying up would be the best option. I'd stay at my Brisbane-based brother's house for some days, to make the most of the visit.

Probably both of us would've attended, giving the girls some peace! Will let my brother know anyway. He still likes C64, but rarely checks out Lemon64.

This is great! I'm sorry I won't be attending. Love how just a little suggestion on this here forum leads to a meeting with competitions and prices and I sure would be interrested in pictures and reports from this event. Long live the Commodore!!!
