Hi,

I am in the unusual position of actually having money in my Paypal account so am tempted to spend on C= stuff of course so was wondering whether anyone out there has the 64NIC+ and if so, what do they use it for?

I have the Turbo Chameleon C64 which is supposed to have an ethernet add-on in development but there's no ETA on that.....waiting for that would seem the obvious thing to do but might be a long wait...

Failing that I've been thinking of either getting an EasyFlash or an uiec for my second machine or saving the money, selling more stuff on ebay and getting a 1541 ultimate. I guess I am not too sure what EasyFlash does aside from CRT images - can I load D64's/PRG's from it?

Cheers
Lee

No you can't load d64/prg's from Easy Flash. It's a fine toy as there is really cool EF releases out there.

Ultimately the Ultimate is the thing you want. Simply untouchable. It does run Easy Flash too and much much more.

I got 64NIC+ and using it to check some BBS's from time to time and chat on IRC. Good stuff.

Hi,

I was just admiring your Commodore 1581 drive in the "post when you get new stuff" thread, is there a way of converting a PC 3 1/4 drive to work in the same way?

Nope, Commodore drives are computers itself with processors and everything. If you like idea of using 3.5" disks with your C64 than you need to hunt Commodore 1581 or CMD FD-2000 disk drive.

Network programs available for the Commodore 64 thread
Talking about the RR-Net 3 it would be nice to know what's available for it. Anyone!

Shane.

I believe Jens noted the new Ethernet port for the Chameleon would use a different IC (WizNet). So, older SW designed for the CS8900 IC would not work. Jens will no doubt have versions of many apps recoded for the new IC, so it's not a showstopper, but FYI.

It would be biased of me to comment on the rest, but I'm glad you have funds for some new toys.
