Same here. Outside of playing R-Type a few times, this genre is foreign to me. _________________

I dunno if anyone is interested (I get the feeling most of you guys aren't too keen on this game), but I finally got around to uploading some youtube vids of this game, complete with silly annotations.

Nice work, I'm always interested in seeing C64 longplays in YouTube. Awesome performance as well. _________________

Great video and excellent gaming! I can understand the facination of these god-mode blasters when you got all powerups but I cant see how you actually manage to dodge all those bullets when I can hardly see them underneath your own bullet-rain.
Ah and yes, I learned from your vid that the drone can be used as a racking ball. I always tried to keep it out of harms way... lol. Expect a bit higher score from me tonight when I get back from work. _________________

To be honest, even though I figured out you could use the drone as a shield, I found it confusing having this rotating thing around the spaceship. The shower of bullets spraying all around the screen didn't help either. Just a bit too many things to keep track of. _________________

I know what you mean about the swinging of the drone ships being distracting. There was a while there when it felt almost like the bloody things were hypnotising me, swinging to and fro... you are gettink zleeepy!
But once you get into the rhythm of them, it becomes more fun/natural... like I say, sometimes it feels like you're slowly punching your way through a crowd.
And as you start to learn the attack waves, you get a better feel for which ones are prime targets for your drones. There are a number of enemies that only shoot horizontally (or restrict their bullets to horizontal fire if there are already a lot of sprites on-screen, probably to avoid taxing the multiplexor), which makes them a great candidate for a swift clobbering. |

Got a bit further tonight, I think my joystick (Competition Pro USB) is a bit too stiff (no jokes) since my hand cramps a bit from moving the stick around.

That was very enlightening. I don't expect to be able to get past level one by this weekend, but I do think I'll be able to improve my score some. _________________

Stuck on the level 4 boss - three times in a row actually. Strange, first time i got there i did beat him (but had bullets of regular enemies turned off).
This is my last score for this round. I will be off for holidays tomorrow. It's a pity because i think i can beat the game but without competition i just can't face it... |

I'm pretty sure this will be my final score due to my schedule this weekend.

As with Drelbs, I've had a very enjoyable but infuriating time with this game. My gratitude goes out to those who voted this game in. _________________ |

This game becomes easier if:
1. You use the drone ship as an extra weapon (as shown in loflo's video)
2. You press fire all the time, which works like an autofire switch.

After a ridiculous amount of efforts, I made it to level 4.

To my surprise, what I thought was a tasteless game, becomes an addictive blast with the techniques I mentioned in my previous post. _________________ |

This game didn't make me want to make the time to play it this month, but I thought I ought to at least put up a score that got me past level 1....

Might have time for another go or two before the deadline.
There might have been mixed reviews about the game, but we had a good turnout in the competition this month! _________________ Hey, you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Cosy in there? |

Sigh. Level 2 boss keeps beating me, whatever it's meant to be.
