After a huge process of obtaining the collection (over 3000 disks amongst other things), I'm pleased to announce that part 1 of the disk collection of the late Derbyshire Ram is now available to download.

Part 1 contains over 1000 disks converted to PC. It also includes photos and a nice note-file explaining the process that we underwent to bring this to you.

Reactions, errors, requests, please send me a mail!

Either you need to open them in an emulator.

Do you need some files in d64 format you can do:

1) Using an emulator to copy them to a new disk

2) Using Marcus Brenners program (part of nmib) g2b.exe

Thanks to CBA, we're hosting the files for two weeks at http://www.scs-trc.net/DRM/ after this point we'll upload them somewhere else.

Its a great disk collection. My old friend Derbyshire Ram had alot of interesting stuff on his disks. I have been swapping with him since 1988 and in the years before he died he was very helpful transferring alot of cracks for the archvie.

Sadly I couldnt visit him in time even that it was one of biggest wishes to do.

You can use DirMaster v2.0 to convert them to .d64. Unfortunately I only have read only support for g64.

was lucky enough to actually go through Barrys collection in Real life, and he would have had no end of disks that we supplied! Great collection, will download! Cheers for this is a great idea, and I'm sure Barry would be proud and happy that his collection will give others pleasure!

Mad as toast, just found, 2 demos of mine that I had lost in the mists of time! and a letter from Barry to us, which is fan bloody tastic!

anything with the prefix "flat3" is appreciated!

This is a right blast from the past, what a fantastic idea! , knew I would find all the demos one day, I just know there are more lurking around on the disks, that are not archived yet!

Look forward to next lot! keep up the good work!

ARSE!!! found a demo "Slagger/flat3" which I do not have, and the disk reports, file not found!! gutted, if anyone else has got it working, please let me know...its on disk 979b

I'm glad dumping all these disks has been of use to some people - It helps to spur me on to continue. Laughing

Please let me know if any disks need redumping etc.

Peepo.

I just wanted to say thanks for doing this - I wasn't (and am not) part of the "scene", and the only reason I recognize the name Derbyshire Ram is that I've seen it on many Remember cracks over the years.

But still, I'm really enjoying this collection. It takes me back to when I used to buy other people's C64's in order to get my hands on their game collections (that was actually the number one way I used to get new stuff), and then going through their disks one by one. It's a bit like an adventure, you never know what you're going to find next - sometimes it's stuff you've played or seen before, other times (most of the time Smile ) it's something you never even knew existed.

So yeah, thanks. Smile

While I'm going through this great collection I noticed that number 0582b is missing. I'm converting all images to d64 and fitting the folders for using them on 1541u (255 entries/folder). Thanks a lot for preservation ! Great job!

btw. can you tell us when the next batch will be available? Your effort is much appreciated Very Happy

Spread to www.demoscene.tv FFS! If this is gold then I'm pretty sure they'll rerecord the demos to video and upload them. There are frankly way too little demos from the C64 there.

Thank you Jazzcat, a wonderful collection indeed.
Are you still working with the rest of the disks?
