I just got a sx64 from ebay and thats what he did soldered the cartridge to the port and just switched the power lines off when not in use.
Seemed to work but i removed it as looked untidy i use the sx64 for normal c64 stuff and the computer in the Pictures for the WebServer
the RRNet looked untidy sticking out across the table.
If i were to keep the Cartridge Port i would have faced the
RetroReplay/RRNet the other way and had the port next to the joystick port 1, this would be a better idea for most.
The cartridge edge connector port is still used its on the end of the scsi lead this way i can unplug the RetroReplay/RRNet if i want to change something.
I would like to see a MMC64 mounted inside a c64 with the port accessable
from the side of the c64 this would be a great mod .
Have Fun Zap www.c64web.com checkit out. |

Yes what about making a dual edge connector and switching in the one
you want.
This mod was done as this is all this computer will ever have connected
to it and stop the RRNet form Ripping off the RetroReplay.
Until the next great product from Protovision that can do it better.
Next i will be chasing a Better Power Supply ay Doc. |

We used a scsi lead for the cable and retained the edge connector for changing the cartridge keep all leads short.
The best advice is TIME use as much of this as needed. |

@ zap
i made some very simple mods .In the RR i replaced the jumpers with switches and build it in a case Im still not happy with it the holes are to big .The same with MMC64 i just sawed the back of it and made an opening in the for the MMC cart easy to make and works well
This way you don`t damaged the carts
Still having lots of problems with my RR so maybe it works better if i build it in the c64 Thats my last try If it don`t work i`ll buy a new one
Where can i find the on/offs of the cartridge port ?
and if i use my RR build in a c64 and want to use my mmc64+the RR
Will it work ?
BTW i conna paint on breadbox black and use a c64II keyboard
That Looks soo COOL

With switching the cart on and off hmmm will get back on that one i
never took note on how it was done on the sx64 it was not real tidy
thats why i removed it will look into it and get back after i have tried
it myself with a game cart or two.
Send me a pics of your c64.
I have just got my new Retro/Replay Cart Hmmm What to do. ?
Cant wait for another RRNet i plan to place both units in a double cart

Hope to have a picture in a week of 2
still need to make some changes
In my c64 are different roms speeddos/exos and the normal one. There switched with a kind of counter from 0/9
It uses 3 cables to switch the roms
I need to find a better way because it doesn`t work well
After that i want to build in a kcs cartridge and pacman
and then painting it black |
