I've released a playable preview of my networked Artillery Duel game!
If you have an RR-Net or ETH64 cartridge on your C64, you can play against someone else with the same setup over the Internet. It only runs on real hardware though, as VICE's RR-Net emulation isn't supported yet.
You can read about it and download it here:
http://home.ica.net/~leifb/commodore/duel/
Enjoy! Please let me know if you try it, and any bugs you find. |

SCHEMA this is really cool man, and when the VICE version becomes available think of all the commodorians who will be able to particapate!
Good work mate, keep it up, this sort of dedication shouldn't go unnoticed, or unrewarded. The fact that you need a real C64 to enjoy it seems to be (to me) the 'trump' card,I hope many try it out.

Don't worry, it works with your RR-net just fine! |

I would absolutely love it if Advanced Space Battle could be played over the Internet, though I doubt anyone would see me for months on end

Excellent! May have to look more into getting a RR-Net or ETH64 at some point now.
As for future games, anyone thought of Flash Attack? _________________ Proud to be "predictably pedantic".

Larry Anderson and I talked on IRC a while back about Flash Attack, he's interested in making it networked. Not sure if he's done anything with it yet though. |

Is there also going to be a version which does not require network play, so you can play against a friend who visits your house? _________________ The New Dimension

No, there's no point, there are much better adaptations of Artillery Duel that work well with two local players.
One thing I am occasionally tempted to do, though, is set up a server somewhere that will "mimic" a second player. But while it still demonstrates the networking, it sort of defeats the purpose. |
