Years ago, I sent my Last Ninja boxes (LN1&2) to Kai, the owner of the Last Ninja Archives web site (very good site btw, best LN site ever) so he could scan them and put them on his site.

Years later, I bought this UK Retro magazine that came with the C64 versions (plus some other versions) of the Last Ninja games.. and to my surprise they had used my boxes on the cover disc box. I could clearly tell due to some very distinct scratches on my boxes (especially LN2).
It's funny how things turn out sometimes Very Happy

Edit - I'm sure everyone knows this already, but just in case - here's the link to the best web page for the greatest C64 series of all times :

The link must be wrong, because that points to a Last Ninja web site. Wink

That's pretty cool to see pictures of your box Cool
I think someone used google picture so that this lazy guy didn't had to take any picture with his own camera and put it in his pc.
I did the same when I sold my Sega Genesis.

That Last Ninja site is a very cool site indeed.
The funny thing is that I found Lemon 64 this way Wink

Hmm but that lazy guy was working for an official magazine and the pictures of my boxes ended up on the coverdisc cover that came with all of those Retro magazines. I don't think they actually had the games themselves so they probably found the roms on the net and the game box art too.

Actually the ROMs came from me. Even System 3 didn't have them to give Live, so the previous editor Martyn Carroll asked me if I could supply them for him. So I managed to getting protected versions of LN1 and LN2 off my disks (ie. untrained, uncracked), but LN3 refused (I don't think any emulators support its protection system yet) so we had to run with a cracked release for that.

Live? Perhaps that is a different magazine then, I'm talking about Retro Magazine.. and I think they only included cracked versions of the games.

Btw, do you have the 100% original copies? Could you send them to me you think? I would really appreciate that, they're some of my favourite games ever Smile

Live was the original publisher of Retro Gamer.

The copies of LN1 and LN2 for C64 on the CD are uncracked and untrained. If you copied them back to proper disks, they'd be exactly as if you'd bought them from the shops Smile

(though you'd need a parallel connection for LN1 as I could only get it to work in emulators as G64 images not D64)

Interesting story indeed. I've seen stuff from my site in the most unexpected places as well. Smile

I'm glad they didn't use my LN fan art: http://lastninja.lemon64.com/fan_art_kim01.htm Razz
