Clocked the bastard. Lost some lives in level 3 and a lot in level 4 so I'm sure there's much room for improvement (not by me though, I'm done)

Btw. it's awesome to have a fully-powered heli, pwning enemies left and right. Also, I'm sure *no* current-generation 3D auto/quicksave game can match that pulse-pounding feeling of pure adrenaline when I realized I was on the way to also completing level 2 without dying Very Happy

Good man!

What's a 'full powered heli', when it's at home? Exactly how many upgrades can you strap onto that thing? I'm happy with just the 3 way, myself, I've never seen whats so great about this supposedly necessary speed-up.

Dunno if I'll get chance to play again b4 the deadline, what with the mandatory 12 hours a day or so I have to put in on Microprose MtG atm Smile

I guess the upgrades don't stack, so the wide shot, rate of fire, and helicopter speed. I found them all combined quite essential to get the 100% level of ownage and to quickly move to whatever attack wave was starting and kill them before they get to do anything Very Happy

Of course all this is useless against the enemies that can't be killed, especially lots of them in level 4... Evil or Very Mad

Ah, I didn't realise you could get rate of fire AND wide shot, that sounds pretty useful...

If you have spread shoot, faster bullets and speed-up ypu have the speed and firepower to destroy everything that enters the screen -> more points Smile

I've noticed that some enemies don't appear on screen if there's too much happening, some kind of sprite limit I imagine. Would having a fully powered up ship with loads of bullets on screen cause this too, I wonder?

I have played 1,5 hours to improve my score starting over again and again because i did want to complete level 1 without losing a life. Lost one on level 2 and made it to level 3 boss again. But once again without spreadshot which sucks really hard!!! Saw the first bit of level 4. Now i am anxious to see what my score is worth in the end...

Oh no! I have finished finally level 1 but the game has crashed (the game waits for loading level 2, but level 2 doesn't load). I'm using maybe a bad version Sad I had more than 40.000 points and 1 or 2 lives left. Anyway I guess I wouldn't have got too many points in my first appearance in level 2 so I will post my second best score (I haven't taken screenshot of the crashed game).

34.550

I would like to play more in a compo to this game, I haven't played this weekend as much as I wanted.

Game Over for Round 3

Good fun game, SWIV. I'll go back to it again, I expect, at least until I've completed it.

My score is 13150. Yeah, I know. I'm too late for this compo, but I wanted to show how easy it is to beat qazi at this game. I love Swiv!

Congrats to the winner and everyone else on a great round. This one was a lot of fun. SWIV is one the best shooters on both C64 and Amiga. Too bad I couldn't improve my score anymore at the end. Just like what shteev said, I will play it until I finish it Very Happy
