It has been known about, but missing for many years and on the wanted lists of GTW64 and Gamebase for sometime. As it has had a proper commercial release, no entry is needed, but here is the download for you to check out! (See the readme file for more details)...

Hi guys,
Just to note that I haven't posted or updated anything on the 48hrs entry, so i'm unsure why a news entry was made on it.
Unless someone came across it on the site and wanted to share the link? _________________ |

Hmm, Seems I need to get more time for my C64 stuff again. Didn't even know this was a "missing" one...had this one for years already. |

Part of me wishes I'd had a tape recorder with me when I met Dave Crane in 2003 at CGE, because he talked a fair bit about Car Wars, and the relationship to Ghostbusters. Some of what I could remember was used in my Activision article in Retro Gamer (issue #25) but it got transposed or edited out due to the Ghostbusters article in the same issue. _________________ Mayhem64 - for all your cartridge needs!

You might want to change this one to Samber 2 instead. |

That's a shame, but there is probably still opportunity to talk to the man himself in the future. Not sure if he'd ever allow anything of the original Car Wars to be released (That's if it still exists!)

Ah damn it! ... I missed that completely. I think I just took the spelling directly from the fanzine article and didn't realise the spelling was wrong there. I've made a note to update this weekend quickly, it might have to stay broken for a day or two Thanks for the heads up! _________________

Yeah... I'd heard the whole "rumour" about Ghostbusters being developed off another game at the time due to the short deadlines needed for the project, so one of the questions I asked Dave during the pre-show meal that was organised was if this was true, and if so, what details could he remember about the previous game before it got turned into Ghostbusters. I think your entry as it stands recounts most of what I could recall myself about what Dave said eight years back. _________________

Over the past few months, GTW64 has been working with C64.com to preserve a series of games after working on the disk collection of Darren Melbourne. 25 or so disks were painstakingly preserved by C64.com, and GTW64 trawled through these and found many a lost game. We present a good selection of these, but more will follow in the future with more disks being examined and preserved by both of us.
The collaborated update includes:
(*) Nuker preview found and released
(*) Runestone preview found and released
(*) Duel full game found and released
(*) Unnamed CRL game preview found and released
(*) Leopard Lord full game found
Then part of GTW64's usual update includes:
(*) Necronom graphical assets found
(*) Shao Lin's Road V1 assets found
(*) Enduro Racer V1/V2 preview found
(*) Early version of Microprose Soccer released
(*) More details on Razzmatazz added
(*) 42 other new entries added
(*) 17 existing entries updated
Enjoy, and hope you all have a good holidays and a happy new year! We'll be back in 2012 with more joint findings

Thanks guys!
Darren Melbourne was a games producer on the C64, and was head of a development team called Paranoid Software back in the day. He was involved in the C64DTV distribution (I think - correct me if i'm wrong) in the UK as well.
Just to add to the update, but additional findings on the earlier version of Wizball have just been added, as well as a fixed single filed version of Microprose Soccer V1 thanks to Adam Morton. _________________ |

Seems like it - I think Ocean added the extra Z accidently and it stuck to final production on the tape label. But of course, it should be "Wizball". _________________ |

The Arwag preview looks very nice, too bad Megastyle never finished the game. |
