Can we choose any shift we want or is there something that all should use?

I have only played this game once in my life and don't have a good answer to Lasses question but here is a suggestion from a more experienced player at least:

Blabgorius IV wrote:
Woohoo, looks like ST made it! Still waiting for the official count, tho. Anyway, to avoid any confusion, I suggest that only the two 24 hour shifts (standard and random) be allowed in the compo. Reason is that when playing morning shift (i.e. levels 1-Cool, you may easily achieve a big 1000$+ score because of the bonus you get for completing your shift with cabs left.

Sounds like a good suggestion to me!

Yes, 24hr seems the most logical.

Game is easy in the beginning (morning shift), after that it gets really interesting and quite challenging. So far my score is at about 400$ earned after completing the morning shift, whohoo!

You been thrusting alot? From my experience so far you do not need to fill up fuel in any of the first 8 or so (morning shift) levels. When you enter a new screen the fuel is refilled to 100% and only on the "taxi training" screen i have run short on it but i still made it out of the screen without refuelling.

Never played this before. It's a bit slow, and the early levels are a bit dull (and what's with the huge wait between changing screens?), but it looks like the later levels have some fun ideas on them (I got as far as 'The Puzzler').

Thrust is better Smile

Why won't the score table let me type the letter 'S'????

Hey hteev-O and everyone else, try this version:

http://web.externet.hu/sk/c64/games/s/spactaxi.zip

There's no long waits between levels (except for that zig-zag screen, of course) with this Exodus version. It also uses the original type, which adds to the original feel (don't know whether "type" is the correct term; I'm talking about the way the letters look, like "Arial" and "Times New Roman").

@Matt: How's the rules on using different versions?

Still working on a decent score...
