Guys...i'm out
I just can't find to time to produce a decent score.
Because I don't use emu's I have to pick up my C64 from the basement, set it up, find that game on one of the 250 tapes full of games, load it, play it, play it again to produce a highscore etc etc.
And now I need to read a huge page of instructions of Iridis Alpha thanks to Matt
Actually I don't have time for any games anymore.
But I bought a lottery ticket and I feel that i'm going to win the 2 million this time (if not I will donate my little brother to Michael Jackson and sue him afterworths).
I will quit my job and spent the rest of my life watching movies, playing videogames, drinking beer...get fat, go nowhere and do nothing.
I hope you guys have fun here and I'm really sorry I can't join.
Greetings from Jeroen _________________

Really sorry to hear that, jeroen.
But why don't you try and use an emulator, maybe just for the compo?
It may not be the real thing, but it's handy. _________________

Ok, Iridius Alfa. (stupid pooyan-haters. I have to keep my promise) _________________ "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

I am really looking forward to what games we are going to play for the rest of the year. |
Games I would like to play are, besides Hawkeye:
that wonderful little shooter Zybex: 16 levels (wich you can play in any order), nice gfx and sfx, quite challenging gameplay. I never devoted much time to it, but i like it, and I would fancy a compo chance on it. It would be great to play in simultaneous 2p mode, I guess, but you can't have everything. It was also put in the top 10 shmups in the Def Guide in the November 88 issue of Zzap!64...
Other than those, what about a puzzle/arcade game for a change? Something like Pipemania or Zenji? Never played those much either.
Another idea: Samurai Warrior: Usagi Yojimbo, anyone? Too obvious? _________________

Yes, definitely "easy" mode. That way the best players will get high scores, those who are new to the game will enjoy it more _________________ |

shteev is right: I take that you mean the licker things? Fly in front of them, turn and fire and then keep flying in the direction you were going. _________________

As I am a nice guy I will be open to influence when it comes to voting for the next round. Bribe me any way you wish (money, CDs, C64 kit, sexual favours) and try to convince me that I should give your game the big 5 points. _________________ "If you think that the work security systems still overlook 'pr0n' you're an idiot." |

I see some game in the lists that I think are not goog for the compo: turrican is really long and it's really easy to get extra lives so... a single game could take even days for me, and the same for some other ones. I'd ask to think better the games. Lets try games that can be played in a shot time:
1.- le mans
2.- international basketball (choose rules and max skill level, of course)
3.- one on one (you choose the time for cuarter, same as above for difficulty)
4.- munchy
5.- boulder dash (this is a little longer to play)
I have to try iridis alpha, never played it before. |
