First of all, hi. Nice place you've got here.
I'm too young to have been around in the heyday of these machines, but having an affinity for old timey video games (text adventures especially), I was thrilled to find a Commodore 64 at the flea market for 6 dollars. This is my first experience with one; I've spent the past two days setting it up and getting ready to play, but upon closer inspection, it seems as if I don't have a C64 at all.
The box it came in was C64 all the way, which is what fooled me. The computer fit in it perfectly, with the original styrafoam and everything. But the computer itself seems to be a Vic 20! Next to the name Commodore on the left side of the top, it says Vic 20. It has no C64 logo next to the power LED... it just says, "POWER." Plus, there's only one controller port, and the back looks slightly different from those I've seen on the internet.
This really disappoints me. I was looking forward to 6 dollars worth of pure fun. My question is, can I still play C64 games on this crummy old thing?
